Mondays Blues...

mondays just aren't my days!
and would like to say that that picture pretty much summarizes it all... (sorry can't go into the details of why at the moment, but there was once upon a time when I actually looked forward to mondays.)

and now, back to scrapbooking... here I used one of pattern papers from the Mix & Mend Collection from Sassfras, as the layout base (and pretty much that was all I needed; the details on this pattern paper is just amazing).

Photobucket

to add a few touches to the layout, I used Studio Calico - Classic Calico Mist to create the effect on the top, by misting over a circle cut-out and within a specific area only; which I emphasised with the boarder scallop punch and the turquoise strip of pattern paper.

Photobucket

and then adding bits here and there... couldn't resist, even with all the details already, but did try to keep things to a minimal as to not overwelm the layout. lol! also put my Making Memories Slice Machine to good use again and using vellum paper for the butterfly die-cut; to give an airy feel.

Photobucket
supplies used include: cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper: sassafras and we r making memories (turquoise); sticker embellishments: studio calico and ki memories (white twirl); metal leaf pin: maya road; metal flower: making memories; die cut machine: making memories slice; mist: studio calico (classic calico color); stamp: studio calico, punch: ek success

thanks again and again for stopping by guys and all the sweet comments!! really appreciate your support & nite nite!

Celebrating Christmas...

this was one of the best christmas ever (although it would have been perfect if our entire family was there - wonder what it would take to get everyone to fly to Halong Bay, Vietnam - to spend christmas night on the boat???) yeap, that's what we did.

Photobucket

I created this layout as part of my guest DT assignment for My Minds Eye - using the lovely Lost & Found Collection. Oh I just can't get enough of this collection - its absolutely gorgeous and the glitter, its perfect for capturing our christmas celebration is past year.

Also once again, my crepe paper flower (which I thinks goes perfectly with this collection). This time around, I used distress ink to distress the edges of the flower and completed everything with a die cut from the collection.

Photobucket

Still drooling over this collection... the design, the details, the glitter, the everything... lol

Photobucket

And as part of the assignment, we had to create a journaling spot... for which I create a flap book on the page... for the extra pictures and allowing me to capture details about the trip...

Photobucket

A big thanks for stopping by everyone and don't forget to drop by the My Minds Eye blog for more eye candy from their amazing designers. Nite Nite!

if only...

yes, if only everyday would be as calm and peaceful as the still waters of halong bay, vietnam. to be honest, at first i was abit skeptical about going there but was really happy that DH finally convinced me. I loved it!!! spending christmas night on the boat there, was one of the most peaceful experience ever (and a much needed one, since awhile now).

Photobucket

For this layout, I used Sassafras - Count Me In collection and the matching embellishment stickers (always love these and are perfect for layering). Also got out the friskars cloud punches for some action and finally tried out the Sew Easy Tool from We R Memory Keepers (love love love love - and its super easy to control where you want the holes to be punched!!!).

Photobucket

And also trying out another new stamp set from Studio Calico - what can I say, I have a major soft spot for their stamps... wouldn't you?

Photobucket

Also added some rub-ons stars from Studio Calico... and check out those details on the pattern paper... love it!

Photobucket
materials used include:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper and sticker embellishments/alphas: sassafras; rub-ons and stamp: studio calico; envelop and leaf pins: maya road; punch: EK success; stitching tool: sew easy

a little bit more domestic bliss

I know everyone is dying to see the new lily bee collections in action, but couldn't resist sharing these layouts that I created using the domestic bliss collection first; that I've just posted on over at the Lily Bee Blog. Hopefully these would inspire you to scrapbook those collections and therefore also making more room for the new ones... **wink**

Photobucket

and of course, there always need to be some maya road goodies!!! these are their window chipboard that I misted and assembled into a door and also mixed in some chipboard flowers from the domestic bliss collection...

Photobucket

and one more... also using the domestic bliss and lovely collections, plus some hambly for a vintage/shabby feel (or so I was hoping). I created this layout to capture the little something that adorable hannah had created for me... isn't that bunny too too cute. thanks so much sweetie!! it was definitely wonderful to be able to meet some of DH's relative when we went back to brussels late last year.

Photobucket

and don't you love that chipboard tree?? I received this as part of my guest DT for magistical memories last year, and they have the cutest chipboards ever!! I left the chipboard as-is and pasted some of the pattern paper behind the cut out hearts to emphasis them.

Photobucket

and as always, thanks so much for stopping by guys and hopefully I've inspired you a little bit. **wink** nite nite!

my first pink paislee post

its a new year, its a new beginning and it always amazes me how fast time flies by. 2011 has definitely crept in and took me by surprise; I'm still trying to get my 2010 resolutions checked off. which pretty much says... I haven't done (well more like completed) my 2011 resolutions, but in my defense, I managed to get the first item on my 2011 done when the year started! it's definitely going to be a new year for me... (sorry can't share the details just yet, but am dying to scream it out loud - and nope, its not scrapbooking related).

also as the new year begins, so did my term as a design team member with Pink Paislee and this my first assignment for them... using one of my favorite CHA-W 2010 collections - Sweetness. The theme for my assignment is to incorporate four photos into the layout, whereby I opted to use the same picture but highlighted one of them through the different placement and color composition.
Photobucket

I also used the clear cards from the collection to add more dimensions to the layout and also its the perfect way to add journaling without really have to write on the pictures themselves...

Photobucket

oh and don't forget to also grab the doodads (felt embellishments) if you haven''t already... they're gorgeous and also easy to alter to fit with anything...

Photobucket

and yellow, yes yellow, favorite yellow, also glittered, its yellow and oh those hearts are too too cute!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Thanks for stopping by guys and don't forget to stop on over at the pink paislee blog for more inspirations with the sweetness collection and also the CHA 2011 sneaks are starting soon!!!

Looking back at december...

Not sure if you guys had seen this yet, but had to share here this fun layout that I created as part of my guest DT assignment for My Minds Eye this month. I had used the Lost & Found - Market Street Collection and feel totally in love!!! I just adore the sweet and vintage colors and especially that shade of turquoise and the stamp set from this collection is a must have!

Photobucket

and here is how it looks when the tags are pulled out. I used the tags to capture the highlights of each of the pictures...
  • our trip to halong bay, vietnam
  • watching the new year fire works along the marina bay, singapore
  • having lunch with Tania Tahir (with two other amazing scrapbookers also), when she visited singapore

Photobucket

and loving those die cuts from the collection, just the perfect amount of glitter and glam!

Photobucket

and yes, this stamp set is a must... aren't those details on the stamped image just gorgeous...
