Get Picky Challenge #11

it still amazes me how fast time flies everytime; it honestly feels as though I just looked away for a second and yikes, august is here already. which means that half the year has already come and gone... and I still haven't done anything much (gotta find where I put that resolution list, but am sure that nothing can be checked off yet and still haven't lost a single pound - I really really hope I haven't gained more weight since the beginning of the year; dang where's that scale).

before disappearing to agonize myself over this... just wanted to let you know that the latest challenge from Get Picky is up and this time around its an inspirational challenge based on the picture provided (click here for the inspiration picture and more details). and here's my take on it... focusing on the butterflies (still not over them) and also using up the last bits of my "lawn party" studio calico kit (this is definitely my all time favorite kit) and a mix of other random things laying around on my scrapping table (and orange background pattern paper is from lily bee design - stationery collection).

and using the doily and fabric covered buttons sponsered by Purple Pumpkin...

Photobucket

and totally addicted to these butterflies that were cut using the making memories slice machine and from their noteworthy design collection. love.

Photobucket

and of course, american craft thickers - how can you not include these on all your projects...lol... but really loving this font "sunshine" - love the fun design of the alphas and most importantly the size!! they are really perfect - not too big or too small.

Photobucket

and once again using my crafter's workshop template to mist those circles in the background. I'm just loving this design and couldn't resist getting both the 12x12 and 6x6 templates. I can't wait for their new designs, there's already quite a few that are on my must have list!

Thanks for stopping and hope you guys join in on the fun with us over at Get Picky!!

click click...

hi everyone, i'm back to share this layout that I created last night... capturing the beauty and moment at one of the temples at Wat Angkor, Cambodia. I still remember walking around the grounds in awe... wondering what it would have been like back in those days. I'm sure the temples were even more amazing, with jewels and gold everywhere... I can only wonder what it would have been like....

Photobucket

I adore this collection from American Crafts - Peachy Keen collection; the soft colors, gorgeous flowers and super cute bicycle designs and that touch of gray & yellow. Also still in love with fabric textures (and super happy that I managed to get these fabric brads from crate paper at my LSS for 40% off - been shopping like crazy over here with all the discounts going on)...

Photobucket

and at the moment, I'm having tons of fun with stickers (and its not only on this layout), but just loving how quick and easy they can be used, to add a little character or a dab of color to a layout..

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone and in case you haven't heard - I'm currently have a giveaway for the latest Creating Keepsake Tips & Tricks Magazine - more details on my previous post and the giveaway is open till this Friday!!!

New CK Tips & Tricks Giveaway

hi guys, we're kicking off this week with a fun giveaway from Creating Keepsake Magazine!!! it's for their latest tips & tricks edition. you're gonna love this one as it's filled with fun filled projects that are perfect for summer...

Photobucket

and to check out the sneaks --> click HERE!!! and even more --> HERE!!!
and also sharing my layout that was published in the magazine... capturing last summer fun at the theme park - we really had a blast with hubby's nephew and me having a chance to be a little kid again, whinning to go on all the rides....lol...

I used the fine and dandy collection from my mind's eye for this layout - focusing on the graphic pattern papers as background as to draw the attention to the pictures first and adding bits of fun by poping up some of the pattern paper designs. I also used some twine to outline a few of the pattern papers and on some of the pictures, I only glued down three sides - so that I would still be able to tuck tags, notes, etc behind the pictures... (but if you have tons of fun momentos then check out Wendy Sun Anderson's super fun layout below mine - how fun is that!).

Photobucket

if you are interesting in purchasing the magazine right away --> click here. And the wonderful ladies at CK are also providing free shipping (within the US) for orders of $25USD or more --> enter this coupon code "CKFUN10" during check out (coupon is valid until Aug 8th).

and the wonderful folks at CK has also provided me a copy of this magazine to giveaway, so please leave a comment on this blog post by midnight Friday 29th and I'll draw the lucky winner on Saturday. thanks guys for stopping by!!!

having some fun...

hi guys, hope you're weekend is off to a fun start. I know mine is... I spent the day too scrapping and chatting away with a dear scrappy friend. It's been a while since someone has been over to my apartment to do some scrapping and its was fun to be able to bounce off ideas with someone... although, I think I spent most of the time chatting away....lol

and thought today, I would share a card that I made earlier in the week when I was creating the MME layout... also opted to play along with their card sketch challenge that is going on at the moment. now, please do remember that I'm not much of a card maker and every now and then I do like to experiment, but honestly think that mine turns out more like a mini layout (rather than a card)...lol

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by guys and hope you all have a super great weekend!!

My CHA S-11 Wish List (updated)

**updated with even more goodies, keep on going down...*

I'm back with a super long (long) post of some of the goodies on my wish list; there's just so many gorgeous collections this season and so so so many to choose from. I do wish that money grows on tress and that my storage area was a size of a football field (although not sure if that would be big enough, but would be nice to have a scrapbook room that size... i think?).

Kicking starting the list (and in no particular order) are the new pink paislee collections. Although I'm on their design team (and trully thanking my lucky stars); I've always been a collector of their collections and this new release are gorgeous!! in addition to the mistable collection... these are my other must haves: nantucket, vintage vogue and phantom!

Photobucket

and for those of you in singapore, do stay tune for my new class coming in August & September using the new Pink Paislee Nantucket and Mistable Collections. you're going to have tons of fun!!

and so happy to see another collection designed by collage press... I've always loved their fun with a touch of vintage designs and now, with these colors - don't think I've ever taken on to purple this much...lol

Photobucket
and then there's the halloween collection... I have to admit at first, I wasn't too thrilled about this as I don't really celebrate halloween, but then after looking more closely at the products and designs. it's really versatile - just look at those stamps and the colors!

Photobucket

and in addition to the paper collections, aren't these the must have of the season?? wooden alphabets!!! I really do love how you can alter the colors of these wooden shapes and still have that wood texture shine through...

Photobucket

and then there's lily bee... sigh. this collection Heads Over Heels ... had me at "H". adore the colors, the vintage feel and the mix of small and large patterns... everything!!!

Photobucket

and their other collections are just filled with that vintage feel that I've always loved about Lily Bee... and have you seen their new note/tab cards. oh my oh my.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

and when it comes embellishments, Jenni Bowlin really does know just what I need (and want). I'm still so so addicted to her stamps (just bought another seal and butterfly yesterday) and can't wait to get my hands on these super cute chipboards...

Photobucket

and this will probably be the death of me. don't know why or how I manage to get myself addicted to this distress stains... but I'm going to be in so much trouble now. can't believe he came out with 24 colors (in one go). it would have been great if he could have spread out the releases, that way - I wouldn't feel as thou I would be spending so much when I grab them all. lol

Photobucket

and a new manufacture (for me) - simple stories - that has recently caught my eye... I think it was their current releases that I had noticed that vintage fare in their collections and will definitely not be able to resist their new "generations" collection.

Photobucket

ok when it comes to Studio Calico - I don't think there's much to be said other than. BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY (clear as mud right?)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

and then there's crate paper. i'm sure as you can tell from the number of layouts that I create with their collections, I just adore their collections and have been hooked ever since restoration made its debute. their new collections are no exception either and will probably be buying all 3 of their collection packs. sigh.

Photobucket
Photobucket

and loving everything that October Afternoon does. I'm having so much fun with their current collections and drooling all over these two... I need I need I need I need. SOS.
Photobucket
Photobucket

and another new comer favorite of mine is Echo Park.. and these two are just calling my name!!!

Photobucket

and then here's the collection that had me dropping to the floor the last time... My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 2. definitely will be buying a lottery ticket and praying!!!

Photobucket

and finally, glitz!! I'll definitely be getting the beautiful dreamer and most likely bits and pieces of their other two collections - sunshine and vintage blue!!

Photobucket

ok, I thought I was done but then realized (thanks to those reminders) that I missed out a few more... how could I not include prima and more prima!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

then of course there's maya road and I'm just loving their wooden embellishments (anything wooden here I come)...

Photobucket

and yes american crafts - amy tangerine! I really need need everything!!!

Photobucket

and then there's bella blvd with their chipboard alphas... this are a must have and have been addicted since their current collections/release.

Photobucket

and have you seen these two collections from fancy pants... need I say more. i don't have kids and I still want that school collection...lol

Photobucket

ok... now, I really really wonder if I need this given that I probably have thousand and thousand of yards of twine... but then again, knowing me, these are just too too cute to pass... (from doodlebug designs)

Photobucket

I'm still deciding on this one, but am pretty sure that some of it will find it's way into the basket eventually.... from Bo Bunny

Photobucket

now, please do convince me that I don't need these stamps from WRMK as I really do have these sewing heads..... uhmmm

Photobucket

and my recent love... crafter's workshop template... this chicken wire one is to die for (among the other new releases they have)....

Photobucket

Wow... that's a long list and to think that this might not be everything yet... well for sure, I'm in trouble! however I did say that this is my wish list right? guess the finally decision will be on what the $$$ says... lol (off to dreamland now, to dream about fields and fields of gorgeous pattern papers and flowers that are actually embellishments...)

today...

I'm back to share a layout that I created for Made With Love this week - using the sketch provided by My Mind's Eye for their current challenge (more details about the challenge here). I first started with the major building blocks of the sketch, but then somewhere along the creation process and in between all the gorgeous embellishments from MME... well, I then ended with this...

Photobucket

actually doing a tiny bit of "flussy" cutting here and love those vintage metal buttons...

Photobucket

and of course, how could you not love all those sticker embellishments, how could you not be addictive to them. honestly these are the first things that I go for (even before the pattern papers themselves...lol)

Photobucket

Photobucket

and last but not least, in keeping with the metal theme, I finally decided to use these metal butterfly charms from pink paislee (their butterfly garden collection). I opted to pin the charm with the dimensional sticker, so that I didn't have to glue the butterfly down and plus, this way it looks as though the butterflies are flying as I'm able to swing them around....

Photobucket

thanks again everyone for stopping by and hopefully photobucket will be working for me soon (cause i'm going to be bald soon -this S@#!$@# D@#$$ F#@$$ thing! - sorry getting really pissed and they are not replying to me), so that I can get my CHA S 2011 wishlist up (its going to be a long post for sure...lol).

nite nite everyone!
