Studio Calico November Reveal!

I'm totally honored and super excited to be guesting designing this month for my all time favorite kit club Studio Calico.  Need I say more!

I got a chance to work with all the November kits and honestly, theses kits are some of the best ever. I just adore the fun and vibrant colors that are included in this month's kits and am always amazed at how the SC team is able to mix and match the various brands together perfectly.

Sharing some of my layouts that I created, with the first one here created using the main kit only. Got to say, love love love that yellow exclusive pattern paper and is the main source of inspiration for this layout. Also having fun with their exclusive arrow stamp set - too too cute!

Photobucket

and isnt' that stamp the cutest ever... yeap it's a true story!

Photobucket

Inspired by the pattern paper design and knew that I needed to do some sowing for this one... however when I went to get my sewing machine out I realized that it's broken and had to make do with the manual style... But got to admit that I love the way that this layout turned out and the fun random hand stitching here and there...

Photobucket

I just can't get over the fun colors in this kit and went all out mixing the colors together. Also got out my favorite hermes rocket for a bit of typing....

Photobucket

And sharing another layout that I created using mostly products from add-on #4 Leather Jacket and a few random products from the other add-ons.

Photobucket

And as you can tell, I went all crazy with the die cut embellishment that was included in the kit... layer layer and layer away! Also at the moment, loving the idea of adding journaling randomly through out the page (instead of all in one area).

a hello & goodbye...

Hi everyone!
The third post of the week, I think I'm on a roll again. (or I hope so - and a big thanks for stopping by always).  In the past few weeks, work has got the better of me especially with the weekly flights and having to spend the week in the hotel and only weekends at home.  Finally after several months of traveling, I'm so looking forward to November and some major down time (more details on that later)...

First off... I got some {super}exciting news to share.  If you have been following me on facebook, you'll know that I've been jumping up and down and this amazing opportunity to be part of the Maya Road Design Team.  This came as a surprise and with my love for their product... I was definitely screaming at the top of my lungs YESSSS!

Thank you Maya Road, Caroline & Ronda for this amazing amazing opportunity...and also a big congrats to Leah & Mandy. And here's sharing a mini album that I recently created with some yummy maya road goodies along with the sweetest thing collection from MME.

Photobucket

Having lots of fun with the maya road kraft embellishments, just loving those butterflies and the kraft tags (especially the ones with the white outlines).  Also the wooden embellishments can be easily altered with ink or mist (here with the heart one, I used the mustard colored mist to paint on the embellishment and on another one, I lightly tapped with on the ink pad).

Photobucket

I've always been a big collector of maya road kraft envelopes and these new ones are just the perfect lenght to be included in their album... plus tons of room to store all those love notes... Also putting one of my typewriters to good use here... got out the hermes baby in script font!

and on a sad note... the Made With Love scrapbook store has closed its doors. although we are eagerly waiting to hear when they will re-open their doors again (refusing to believe that it will be a permanent decision), I'm already dearly missing everyone.

For me this is where my scrapbook journey started... 4 years ago when I came to Singapore and discovered this friendly store and the endless supplies of scrapbooking products. I still remember my first class on how to create a mini album using a chipboard album (seriously I didn't know what I had to do with chipboards). Then there was the Scrap Idol Challenge that gave me the opportunity to be part of their design team (a first for me).  And yes there's where it all started....

Thanks everyone for stopping by and hope you guys are having a great weekend!

and more Pink Paislee inspirations...

as you can probably guess, I've been having tons of fun with the new pink paislee collections and totally went crazy here with the new artisan collection. sharing my assignment for pink paislee this month (more detail on the pink paislee blog here) and I just loving the new mistable pattern papers.  Also how can I not mention the awesome color shine mists (from heidi swapp); seriously these mists are jammed packed with shine (the most of all the brands out there) and are gorgeous and vibrant in color.

Photobucket

and here's close up of one of the leaves cut from the new artisan mistable/resistable pattern papers and misted with georgia peach and mustard color shine. To get the two tone effect, I first misted the pattern paper with the georgia peach color shine and then quickly soaked up some of the mist with baby wipes. this created a watercolor like effect and then I added a few sprays of the mustard color shine...

Photobucket

like I said, these mists are packed with shine... just look at all that glitter. the best part is that you only need one spray for a gorgeous color coat. also the new artisan chipboard elements are super fun to use. loving the fun designs on these and especially how well they take the mist...

Thanks again for stopping by everyone!

sharing some Pink Paislee Portfolio...

hi everyone, hope you guys had a great weekend... I know that I did as I got a chance to catch up on some long over due scrapping. Over the past few weeks I've had the chance to get my hands on some of the latest collections and have been eagerly waiting for some down time from work. I think in total I complete around 6 layouts (that's a new record for me, given that I also did some major scrapbook shopping, visited my favorite japanese restaurant, caught up with some old friends and still made it to the airport with an hour to spare).

unfortunately I can't share any of the layouts that I recently created, promised some sneaks soon, but wanted to share this layout that I had completed earlier using the new Pink Paislee Portfolio collection. Don't you just love the color combination in this collection. Also have you seen the new Artisan collection - especially the fun elements and stamps... fun!!!

Photobucket

and here's some close ups of the various embellishments / die cuts that you'll be able to find as part of the portfolio collection....

Photobucket

also the new designs of the artisan element collections are definitely a must have... there's a lot of really fun and cute designs included (what do you think of that cute arrow)...

Photobucket

and I'll be honest, one of my favorite items from this release are the artisan element words.... these are perfect for titles and also looks great when you trace over the middle part with a marker (I used a black sharpie pen here)...

Photobucket

Thanks again everyone for stopping by & happy scrapping!

a little card & some fancy pants hopscotch love

Hi Everyone!

Happy World Card Making Day! Hope you guys have been hopping around the blogs the past few days, as there's so much inspiration everywhere and loving everyone's cards. Just in case you're in need of more inspiration... do check out Fancy Pants Blog as they're participating in the blog hop. And sharing a card that I created for my Fancy Pants assignment earlier this month... using the sweet Hopscotch collection!

Photobucket

And pretty much once I started creating with this collection, I just couldn't stopping and created this layout in no time. Keeping things simple but yet having fun with layering and layering and yes more layering. I absolutely love that floral pattern paper (it's those cute blue daisies) and thus opt to use it as focal point for the layout. Then where color meets natural (kraft), I wanted to use that area to highlight my picture and all the fun layering details (putting my sizzix machine and hermes baby typewriter to some good use here too).
