seeing stars (with american crafts) ... part 2

a continuation from the previous post on my weekend back in bangkok... here's a close up of Reddy... isn't he the most adorable doggie! At 18 months, he's only half mature and I can't wait to see how he will look when he gets his full coat and keeping my fingers cross that he'll make his championship soon... I think my sister is showing him again this weekend... go reddy go!

Photobucket

... I know I shouldn't do this, but I couldn't resist seeking this picture of one of Reddy's competitor in. What can I say... that doggie really stole my heart when it comes to cuteness (but Reddy is still number 1!!)...lol

and a little more lily bee...

I know I've been really bad in keeping up my blog this week, but have just been so busy with work that I didn't realize that it was thursday already and that August is just around the corner; time really flies sometimes...

for today, thought I would share some lily bee layouts that were recently posted on the lily bee blog... I just adore the lovely collection and have finally tried using some of the pink papers from the collection...

Photobucket

using bits and pieces here there and that awesome butterfly chipboard from GCD Studios; super happy I found those, really like the different sizes that are included. also did a little bit of stamping on it, just to give it some texture but yet the bare look.

Photobucket

and finally put that pack of hambly stitching rub-ons to good use, can't wait to see their new collections for CHA-S.

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts (white); pattern paper: lily bee (lovely collection); stamp: technique tuesday; rub-ons: lily bee (text) and hambly (stitching); punch: EK Success; chipboard: lily bee (buttons, orange flower), GCD Studios (butterflies) and Maya Road (alphas); mist: maya road; flower: prima; flower pins: maya road.

and another layout using the same collection - lovely - from lily bee, but this time around went for the 11 x 8.5 page layout.

Photobucket

I honestly can't get enough of these run-ons, just love love love love them!!! and how so true all those statements are... (at least at the moment..lol... knock on wood tooo).

Photobucket

also used some of those gorgeous ribbons from one of my fav etsy store MemrieMare to add a touch of elegancy and of course, could resist adding in the new star pin from maya road (really looking forward to their new release, there's just so many things that I would love get).

a little bit of MME...

had some spare time (before coming to london) and got a chance to finally use some of the yummy MME papers from their so sophia line (gotta make room for all their new goodies, wouldn't even know where to start - everything is just a must have... lol)...

Photobucket

made this one to play along with their current challenge and also based on a sketch provided by none other than the super talent Anam (I just adore her sketches, they are just so fun to work with and allows you to go the beyond). And I was also inspired by one of MME designers - Sonia - with the super cute little flowers from the collection, that started cutting mine out too.

Photobucket

and of course, using the STAMPING BELLA stamp there to add of a bit of touch, I really starting to like the effect of using ink other than the norm of black and brown... and also some more doily from the Etsy store... these really do add the perfect touches to a page...

Yeap... I'm in London

I know it has been a bit quiet around here, but the last few days have been really hectic for me. The trip to London was confirmed last friday and flew out on Sunday... and I'm still trying to adjust to the time difference, also since this is a business trip... well, they seem to keep you super busy (atleast during the times that I'm able to stay awake..lol)

Thus far, I haven't seen much other than the hotel and the office, but can't wait till the weekend, hope to have a chance to explore the city. (ps. any recommendations are more than welcome on the must dos & must eat here & if there are any scrapbook stores nearby - staying at paddington area...lol)

Well gotta run for now... but I do have tons of layouts to share in the next few days (had been scrapping non stop before coming... and hoping to get by without having to scrap for the next few weeks...lol)

still seeing stars (with american crafts)

i've been scrapping away the last two weeks non stop - hoping to get everything done before the end of the week, as I might have to travel abit for the next 3 weeks (keeping my fingers cross that the trip to UK will go through, would be definitely great as this would be my first time ever going to the UK. although the trip is for work, hoping to squeeze in a bit on the weekend!)

and here's a little something with the super fun Abode Collection from American Crafts... I just adore the solid colors of this collection and it was the first thing I grab when I wanted to scrap the pictures from my last weekend in Bangkok.

Photobucket

it's a two page layout - using two 8.5"x11" pages and a little something to celebrate the our second place winning (hoping that next time we would get the #1!!! was so so so so close) and also my sister's first show in Bangkok (we'll see how long she keeps this one up - or at least until she finds a job. speaking of which... know anyone looking for an infrastructure economist?)

(a little introduction) just wanted to also introduce our latest addition to the family... Reddy!! (his full name is AM CAN CH Chrisendo Call Waiting aka Reddy) and we're keeping our fingers cross that we would be able to also add TH to his list of championships. and yes, in addition to my love for scrapbooking, I also have a small pomeranian kennel back home in Bangkok.

Photobucket

and couldn't stop playing with these super fun chipboard pieces from GCD studios. this time around, got out my american crafts embossing powder for some super glossy finish. (I double embossed the chipboards for the solid finish look).

and before disappearing again... here's a little sneak of one of the layouts for my up and coming class at MWL next month. hope to see some you there :)

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone!

CCG Challenge #150

wow, i cant' believe that it's been almost a week since I last updated my blog but it really has been a busy week (especially in the beginning on the work front and in the later half, trying to get as many of my scrapping assignments done).

here's one that I did for this week color combos galore challenge

Photobucket

and here' s my take on the color challenge and inspired by many of you with your amazing 4th of July layouts... I kept it simple this time and also wanted to celebrate the "freedom" that dear hubby has given me for my hobby (thanks for not nagging me about it and your support and cheers).

Photobucket
and as you can see, I just went crazy with these oversized chipboard stars from GCD Studios... did a bit of inking and embossing too and dugged really deep into my stash for those grid things (I just forgot what they are called... it's ust amazing how much stuff I have and what I have....lol)

Photobucket

my addiction... (magpie club july sketch challenge)

ready for some more magpie club love? here's another layout based on this month sketch by Julie Bonner... using some more studio calico and girl paperie goodies.

and here's julie sketch for this month magpie club sketch challenge (you can use any goodies for this, it doesn't have to be magpie club kits and remember your layouts are due by the end of the month.) good luck!

Photobucket

and my take on the sketch... couldn't resist adding a bit of misting too. also finally did the topic that I've been wanting to do for a while now. Everytime I go back to bangkok the one thing that I always do is stop by the chatujak market (not only to buy the flowers and other goodies) but to get the MUST HAVE drink... CAIPIRINHAS!!

Yes, I am super addicted to these, especially the cachaca that is used. I still remember the business trip to Brazil awhile back - some of my collegues there introduced me to this cachaca bar in curitiba where all they served was the different types of cachaca (over 100 types and its cachaca only, not mixed as caipirinha). there was this type of cachaca that you could drink as is... straight... and it's soo soo good and super sweet tooo (and it was more than 15+% alcohol). love it and wish I could find it again... calling out to all brazilians out there... could you please let me know what it's called... please.

Photobucket
Photobucket

Magpie Club July Kit

I just love this month kit from Magpie Club and had so much fun working on the layouts. I had gotten the goodies on Monday (as they arrived when I was in Bangkok over the weekend & yes, I did get more flowers) and once I saw what was included... couldn't stop. The next thing I knew.... volla!

Here are two of the layouts using the super fun cosmo cricket joyride papers and stickers... I just love this collection, especially that super cute helicopter...

Photobucket

and when I saw these purple flowers... I couldn't help laughing as purple is just not my color, but when it's mixed with this collection... oh I just love them! and yes, again yellow clouds... lol

**removed for publication**

and here's another layout using more cosmo cricket goodies in the kit... and all through out, I was so tempted to do a bit of misting... but surprisingly, I like how the raw chipboard letters turned out on this one... and you can pretty much tell that I made this one right after the first one... I just couldn't let go of my latest punch from EK Success... so in love with it at the moment.

Photobucket

although Tara put the kit together with a travel theme in mind... who says, you had to use them for a travel layout right? for this one... mixed abit of the studio calico and the girl paperie goodies together for something a little different... everyday life.

I didn't think much of it when we took this picture, but the more I look at it... I realize that it's the small little things in life that make us smile (the big ones are the ones that either makes us laugh or cry); and it's these little things that we should be more aware off - or atleast I should. Also another thing I noticed is that the butterfly isn't perfect... bits of its wing are missing, but it doesn't stop it from living. Nothing in life is perfect, I guess it's what you make of it that really counts.... (piradee ranting on...)

Photobucket

also... finally gave in to the misting desire and I did try very very hard to avoid the banner (hence the star), but then... couldn't resist. (fyi - the vanilla cardstock and twine are not included in the kit).

Photobucket

well hopefully, I've inspired you abit... and better head on over to Magpie Club before these kits disappear (last month kit was sold out in two days!). thanks again for stopping by =)

ps. I should have my take on this month Magpie Club sketch challenge up after the weekend
