and a little bit of love (& WINNERS)

Hi everyone,

It seems like forever since I last blogged and scrapped. Usually during the week, I get a chance to do a little bit of scrapping after work, as a way to help de-stress myself, but lately it's been long hours and just so exhausted when I get home or when I finally shut down my computer. The only thing that keeps me going at the moment is that I only have 6 more days to go!!! yay, finally decided to take sometime off from work... to relax, rethink and recharge (and of course scrap all day... lol).

as for scrapping... here's a layout I managed to finished over the past weekend and haven't had the chance to share... using the super fun "I Heart You" collection from American Crafts.... and it's truly I Heart "this collection"... (ps. have you seen the latest AC CHA collections ... OMG!!! I love each and everyone and everything - did you see those gorgeous ribbons from the Dear Lizzy collection?)

Photobucket

These pictures were taken during our trip over the new years... the few days that we spent in Hua Hin (it's about 2 hours drive from Bangkok). There really wasn't that much to do there other than enjoy the beach and SEAFOOD!!! (guess which one I did religiously) lol

A little bit of collage press...

I hoped everyone had a great weekend... mine was just nice and peaceful. Although, I didn't get much done as I spent most of my time shopping & then organizing my scrapping area, but still it was good to just chill out. On a scrapbook count, I finished one project for american crafts and started another using some of the yummy basic grey - origin collection (still WIP, but hoping to be able to share it soon).

As for now... here's the close ups of my layout posted on the collage press blog today:

just hanging out with sis...

Photobucket

and finally got my studio calico kits out.. if i remember correctly, i think the papers and some of the goodies are from the september kit (i know, i'm really behind; which also means that you will be seeing alot more of studio calico)... and added some glitter cardstock & the flower stems (another great find from bangkok).

Photobucket

this picture was taken at the chatujak market... we found this cute bar that serves the best ever caipirinha; although it was only 4pm - we couldn't resist.

Photobucket

TFL & check back tomorrow for my new year resolutions (i know, i know i'm pretty late, but finally decided).

ps. and just in case you haven't seen this post --> i'm having a small giveaway here, there's still a few more days left.

Experimenting...

It's been a while since I worked with sassafras papers and just forgot how fun it can be... this time around, thought I would mix in some american crafts (junior collection) and also some die cuts & flowers; that had been laying around my scrap table from another project. (my scrapping area is a major mess at the moment - papers and goodies everywhere and even on the floor around the apartment... I always love going through my stash and but the cleaning up part is a big problem *wink*)

Photobucket

As you can tell... I'm a major layering addict, always having to layer everything - what can i say, I'm addicted, and with these gorgeous papers who wouldn't be right? Can't wait to get my hands on the new sassafras collections (so so yummy - the sneaks are driving me crazy!!!) and oh, how can i not also mention american crafts --> have you heard the news, the amazing collections from Elizabeth Kartchner & AC - my head is just spinning, can't wait!!!). And then there's also primas!!! ahhhh, I just love and hate this time of the year: love - all the new amazing collections & hate = will be broke again. **giggles**

My January 2010

Finally finished the January calendar - after having worked on it for a few weeks now (on and off). I started this before going on vacation, but never had the time to complete it and also was missing a little something... flowers. Yeap, put some of the flowers that I got to use!!

Photobucket

Once again, I can't stop using the american crafts letterbox collection - just loving every single sheet from the collection & the colors... just so sweet!

Also for some added texture I first stamped the cardstock (and yes I'm addicted to kraft paper) with a background stamp that I got from purple onion, using distress ink - antique ink. Then started adding the different elements to the page... and putting my corner punch to good use.

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: bazzill basic (kraft); pattern paper, chipboard elements, brads, rub-ons, alphas and weekday stamps: american crafts letterbox collection; background stamp: purple onion; other: flowers.

thanks again for stopping by & for all the wonderful comments... i think i finally figured out what i'll be doing for my dearest for valentine (thanks everyone for your ideas), but please do keep sharing them (would love to hear more) and also don't forget about the giveaway that I'm having --> here for more details!

ps. still working on my 2010 resolution (still along way to go), but hoping to have something to share by the weekend. At the moment... being inspired by Kelly's post --> here.

Hello 2010 & Giveaway

Wow time really flies by, still adapting to the fact that it's 2010 (which also means that I will be a year older soon). I woke up today - planning to complete a few scrapping assignments, but haven't really gotten any where. Instead I spent the entire morning (and afternoon) so far cleaning and organizing my scrapping area - which is still a mess and tons of goodies all over the floor. I still can't believe how much I have accumulated over the years - and I do mean accumlated, a lot of the goodies are still in their original packaging and un-opened/un-used. So do stay tuned as I will most likely be posting more goodies up for sale on my blog or maybe creating another blog for these.

speaking of which, is anyone in need of some scrapping inspirations? I have 12 past issues of the scrapbook inspiration magazines up for grabs - all for $48 SGD (each of the magazine retails for $11.70 SGD)- please drop an email by if you are interestedj. Photobucket

and on another note... with the start of the new year, I haven't put together my resolution yet. Hoping to sit down with some wine tonight and get something together.

Sketch Challenge #1 @ MWL

It's been abit busy around here as I try to catch up on work (been at the office until 10pm for the last few days) and also being sick (again). This weekend was the first time that I had a chance to do any scrapbooking and this is my first layout for the year.... which also happens to be my take on the sketch challenge going on at Made With Love (you have until Jan 21st to upload your take... can't wait to see them).

Photobucket

The picture was taken from our trip to Hua Hin over the new year... finally getting the chance to hang out with my sister after not seeing her since my wedding (which was about 1 year and a half ago). So happy that we decided on this last minute trip with my mother, ruben and sis... picture of mummy & sis... hanging out at the beach.

Photobucket

I decided to keep things simple for this layout... emphasising more on the pattern of the papers (i love love love love this collection from american crafts - letterbox, especially those glitter birds!!!) and a little bit of stitching. I am still wondering whether I should get a sewing machine, just love the effects on the papers that I have been seeing around the web... but then again, I have never sewn before. uhmmmm...

Photobucket

and then there's this adorable stamp that I got from stampingbella... that pretty much sums up what happiness is.

Supplies used include:
cardstock, pattern paper, pearl brads, button, chipboard frames, alphas: American Crafts letterbox collection; die cut (vintage letter): K&Company; flower dollies: SEI; vinyl appliques: Scrapworks; happiness stamp: StampingBella

thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check back tomorrow... have a few more layouts to share. :)

More Flowers...

** thanks everyone for all the comments and emails - sorry to say that I do not have any more left and for everyone who has emailed requesting the flowers, you should have received an email from me confirming your reservation. thanks so much again and please do share your projects (would love to see what everyone does with them) **

I know a few of you are waiting for these... and here they are!! This time around, I also picked up some pink & reds ones, just couldn't resist with valentine just around the corner.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Aren't they gorgeous... I just keep staring at them (instead of using them) - but hopefully over the weekend, I will have something to share. There are a total of 64 flowers (in the various sizes and colors shown) and 4 leaves per pack. The flowers range from 1.0cm to 4.5cm in diameter (smallest flowers to the large pink one) and are all made from paper... and all this for only 10.00SGD per pack! Yeap that's right... drop me an email if you are interested.

nite nite everyone :)

top ten of 2009

Couldn't resist posting this either and here are my top 10 favorites (in no particular order)... and in looking through all my layouts, I can't believe how many I've done over the months and how my style changes over time and from one layout to another...

Having fun with the Cosmo Cricket nutmeg collection and using one of the rare pictures of me & Ruben in Japan - my favorite CC collection! Also used one of Julie's sketches for this... thanks so much for letting me be part of your 52 Sketches 52 Weeks design team.

Fell in love with these papers when I first saw them - so vintage sweet... perfect for these pictures that my friend took of us at the chatujak market. Did this layout for Made With Love (LSS) and little did I realize when I first saw this store - that I would be going back every week and is a start to an amazing hobby...

A big thanks to Tara for letting me work with her amazing kits from Magpie Club... just adore the old film "thing" that was included in the kit and another picture of Ruben from our trip to Japan... just chilling on our train ride from Tokyo to Nikko.

One of the most amazing thing that happened this year... is being able to be part of such a talent group of ladies and working with an amazing brand... American Crafts! Thank you - my first manufacture DT! And looks as these calendar layouts have become a monthly occurence.

This was one of my very first layout that I did... and still my all time favorite layout!

A little something about and how I was feeling during the year... hoping that the new year will bring a lot of changes, or at least more happiness.

Here's another layout from the initial days of scrapbooking... I think I did this layout for about three to four different challenges... my source for inspirations.

Experimenting with glimmer mist in the early days... and also a big thanks to BG & Kelly for selecting this layout for their monthly newsletter; super excited - my first time ever!

Experimenting again... this time with styles, as I am still searching for my scrapbook style.

Celebrating our first anniversary and a year together in Singapore. Also a big thanks to Miriam - speechless and thrilled to be part of such an amazing team - Collage Press!

Photobucket

and a big thanks to everyone for your support and stopping by my blog!
