yeap, it's been one year (yesterday) since I started this blog and sharing my journey into the scrapbooking world... and it's funny how all this got started...
always love arts and crafts
always love traveling and taking pictures
always love holding on to the memories
and then... relocated to singapore for work (around mid 2008) and discovered this cute store (made with love) selling all kinds of paper and crafty items and was taken away by all the gorgeous work that were on displayed in the store... also they were having a challenge where the grand prize was to guest design for them for 3 months. wow... that really sounds like fun and just had to give it a try... (and my very first post).
... and little did i know that one year later... I would be designing for them on a regular basis and also for these amazing manufacturers... american crafts, collage press and lily bee. also had the chance to teach a few scrapbook classes and got published (OMG)! thanks so much everyone for giving me these unbelievable opportunities...
and just a little something to capture this moment (using goodies from studio calico - feb kit)...
and a little something to celebrate this moment... giveaway giveaway giveaway... interested in some yummy goodies? then just leave a comment on this post (would be great also if you could share how you started scrapping & if you haven't already, would love it if you would become a fan too) by Saturday May 15th for a chance at these (everything is new and un-used; and is open to everyone and everywhere)...
thanks again and again for stopping by and all the wonderful comments - always appreciate them.
ps. don't forget to stop by the collage press blog for some more inspiration!!! it's a little something for my dearest... he's getting me an iphone!!!
Wow! What an awesome ride! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's awesome to hear about your journey! You're certainly very talented and deserve all the spots on the DT's that you've made!! And I am keeping my eye on that giveaway, it looks awesome!!! Thanks for sharing. And congrats!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! How did I start scrapbooking? It's been so long, I can hardly remember! I took a free class at the library. It turned out to be a Creative Memories presentation, but it was my first exposure to scrapbooking!
ReplyDeleteYou're very talented and you deserve all these! Thank you for all the inspiration! I started scrapbooking when i gave birth to my first born. I dont want to insert the photos in those slip on albums, i like to write something about it. Thank you for the chance to win those amazing goodies! Love the Thickers and Prima, yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love your layout. I started scrapping 4yrs ago. I love taking photo's (which is a understatement) and I also walked into a scrapping shop and decided to take the plunge. I have not regretted one minute of it. I have made fantastic friends both in real life and in blog land.
ReplyDeleteHello Piradee! Congrats Congrats! You have come a long way since then and you are amazingly talented. More classes at MWL pls? Haha. (:
ReplyDeleteHow i started? Started exactly, how you did. Walked passed the store one day during Dec and was amazed by everything they had in there. Was ambititous to make presents for the pals but never gave them in the end. But since then, it started and I am glad i stuck through it. :D
Have a good weekend.
Love the beautiful layout! I started scrapbooking in 11th grade, because I wanted to make a special gift for a friend. After that, I got hooked and began to scrapbook for myself! Love playing with paper and embellishments :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a whole year and what accomplishments you've made!! CRAZY talented you are! I started scrapping almost 2 years ago now when I was trying to do up a story book for my oldest son. I somehow came across a 'real' scrapbooking store and was in complete awe! From there on I browsed online galleries and started 'real' scrapbooking and have been hooked ever since! Thanks so much for the chance to win such a sweet prize!
ReplyDeleteYou know what girly, when you got it, you've just got it! :) I'm so glad to hear that this year has proven successful for you! You're one of my favorite artists out there, and I'm so glad to have "met" you. :)
ReplyDeleteI began scrapbooking after the birth of my daughter (6 yrs ago)... After about 3 yrs of it, I slowly moved into the cardmaking arena, and I've been primarily focused there ever since (though my love for scrapbooking has yet to fade!). Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work with the world!
*Hugs & Congrats!*
Wow! You've only been blogging for a year? I would have never guessed! Gorgeous layout btw!
ReplyDeleteI started scrapping when I first got married 15 years ago because wanted to 'preserve' our wedding photos. Only in the last year few years has it turned into a daily paper crafting hobby.

ReplyDeleteI started scrapping last year but have been reading about this craft for months. It was only January last year that I started being addicted. Just like you I just want to start a hobby that is rewarding in a different way. Having my 1st baby also motivated me. By March I was already guest designing and being accepted as DTs for kit clubs. I have still so much to learn and reading your blog and watching you grow as a scrapper inspires me to continue wishing someday I can be blessed as you are blessed right now.

Hi Piradee!! I can't believe you've only scrap for a year! Your work is so good!
ReplyDeleteI got started because of my sis - nettescraps who used to drag me with her to Made With Love in Nov of 2008. It gave me and idea of doing something for my boyfriend for Christmas with a budget of $50 and thereafter, I just fell into the scrap abyss! I think I've spent close to $3000 already! Gosh!!!
And thanks for the chance to win the give away..I'm crossing my fingers!!
Joanna
Happy Blog-i-versary, Piradee! So glad you are in the blogging world! Your work is so inspirational!
ReplyDeleteI started scrapping when my husband was in grad school and a friend invited me to a crop night back in 2004. It didn't really catch on with me until 2008 when my kids weren't babies any more. :)
Really love how you used the pp and those pleats at the side ! Congrats on your blog anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI started some 2years+ ago when ladies at an online moms forum I visit started sharing their LOs. I was stressed up with my son's school registration (ya..it is a Singapore thing!) so I went down to our LSS (MWL), bought a load of stuff and scrapped my first LO!

ReplyDeleteStarted scrapping a few years ago, 8+ can't exactly pin point it. And for some reason, the first layout ever completed is still one of my faves. My mum and I worked on it together. It's the memories of her and I and the memories of the dog (a friends dog that we used to look after) on the layout. (PS what fun looking goodies!)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the chance! Really love your work!! ^^
ReplyDeleteI started scrapping when my son turned one years old and I had piles and piles of pictures. I ran out and bought a scrapbooking magazine and the rest is history!!!

ReplyDeleteYou are a wonderful source of inspiration...I don't know that I have ever seen a layout of yours that I didn't adore!
ReplyDeleteHow did I get started in scrapbooking? Peer pressure I suppose. I was out to dinner with my girl friends who were all oh'ing and ah'ing over this new tool called the crop-a-dile. I have been hooked ever since!
You have achieved so much in one year...keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteI was first introduced to scrapping about 6 years ago by a friend of a friend. I must admit, for about the first 4 of those years, I really on bought and hoarded stuff...I only completed a handful of pages.

My colleague and friend introduced this very lovely & addictive hobby to me & I was hooked. Its great to be able to create my very own stuff to store my memories & as gifts for friends.
We fondly refer to scrapbooking as the "abyss". But man has it been a great journey so far!
Congrats on 1 year !!!
ReplyDeleteI started scrapbooking about 7 years ago when my cousin had a baby girl. Now that I have a son I love it even more.
Congratss Piradee! I started scrapping when I was in high school but it used to be just a very simple scrapping, I used magazines, stickers, and ordinary paper and pens :) totally different that what we have nowadays but I treasure my first batches of scrapbooks... I only started to become serious with scrapping last year, when we moved here in SG... like you, I also fell in love with MWL. it was like heaven! I even thought of applying to be a part time salesgirl just so I could be able to stay there often! haha! Now, I spend sleepless nights scrapping away, wanting to learn more, trying to make it good in this craft. you are one of my inspirations. wow. I said a lot.. hahaha .... congrats again! hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou're definitely a fresh talent in scrapbooking, a great inspiration to us!
ReplyDeleteI started scrapbooking way before the word acid-free was defined :)
it was a hobby that eventually became a part of who I really am, I just love the feeling of expressing myself through scrapbooking.

ReplyDeleteA friend got me started in scrapbooking. I love purusing through crafty stores and inspirational blogs like yours!
ReplyDeleteI would love a chance to win!! Thanks and Happy 1st!
I started scrapbooking when I was in Elementary because I was a total nerd and wanted to document all the stickers I got for perfect papers...yeah...I did that. That eventually evolved into a scrapbook with actual pictures in it with cheesy stickers and doodles. I look back and think...oh my goodness...that is really bad! What can you do?
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that we have blogs now! What would I do without my scrappy bloggy friends?
=)
Piradee u are really awesome! I attended ur "days in my life" lesson in mwl and have been following ur blog ever since. It is sooooo unbelievable that u only started ONE year!!! Started like 6 months ago, I have already considered to go full time with this hobby! haha thought only but It is so additive that I spent all my weekends scrapping and browsing for ideas. I was first amazed by the uncountable stamps and beautiful cards at junior de artist, from embossing and card making then ventured into scrapping and minibooks. I want to be like you one day too -be the top talented designer!!!

ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI like reading your blog - your layouts are very pretty!
I just started scrapping last Nov '09. It just happened that I walked past MWL - and went in and got SUCKED into this vacuum/abyss of no return. I still am a bit 'uncreative'but I'm enjoying imagining how my layout would be -even before I fall asleep or even when I drive to work!!
Congrats, Piradee! Love your works, always so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI am a paper lover since I was a little girl. I did cards and tags for many occassions. But I only started scrapping about 3 years ago. I just can't stop stashing and creating.

Your Work is Always so Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! So well deserve it all the accomplishments!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just turn a yr. since I first started scrapbooking. My husband got me into this. He ask me to make an Album for our daughter and that's how all began!!!
I just realised that I've been scrapping for 2 years and a half... It all started when -while browsing the net looking for inspirations for the jewellery I was making - I came across same handmade cards and fell in love with them. Since then I've joined one Polish scrapbooking forum (the best one of course ;), met wonderful creative people, lost a lot of money and discovered that I really CAN be creative. And it constantly makes me happy! :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you many more years with beautiful creations!!!
Congrats on your achievement! Your pages are inspirational and has a fresh look to them. Looking forward to meeting up later this year.

ReplyDeleteI was introduced to scrapbooking by a colleague in 2007. Since then I've been greatly addicted to HOARDING scrapbook stuffs. All so nice and pretty ^_^
Thanks for the generous giveaway~
I started scrappin' in 1996 while on bedrest waiting for the birth of my son. Back then it was all about cutting up photos and pasting on stickers. My style has changed a great deal over the years.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your second year of very fruitful and productive years in the world of scrapbooking. I started scrapbooking way back Sept 2007 and I've been addicted to it since then, and always fall in love with new scrapbooking stuff.
ReplyDeletei started SB in Oct last year, all thanks to the purchase lovely AC thickers alpha from MWL... then attended a beginner's class to know how to put non-acidic stuff together. I only do SB shadow-boxes.. I love depth and 3D stuff! and of course, nothing beats the handmade, and delight in the receivers! :) ying
ReplyDeletei started because my mom started and she was hanging out with these awesome ladies and "scrapping" so i would just sit with them and watch and listen and eventually i jumped in too :)

ReplyDeleteI loved reading your story! Beautiful LO too! I started scrapping 8 years ago, but more addicted in the past 4-5 years :) I just started my blog a few months ago, and am loving the online community of scrapbookers!!
ReplyDeleteLove your style! My grandmother started me scrapbooking when I was ten or eleven (now I'm 35!) Thanks for the generosity and the inspiration! -Alisa
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway. I can't remember precisely why I started scrapbooking. I always made vacation albums, but that was mostly photos and memorabilia. Then I went into cards and at some point I tried a page and tried to make an interesting wedding album. Well, it turned out horrible, but let's say it was a good lesson. But it's going better now, with all the blogs and sites out there, so much to learn! So I'm glad I didn't give up after the horrid album!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you and your Blog. I love reading your blog. Love those wonderful layouts, ideas, inspiration, goodies you shared.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary!!!! Love to come here and for inspriation and eye candy! As I've mentioned before- huge fan of your work! Here's to many more years of blogging!!!
ReplyDeletesuch a lovely page !
ReplyDeleteI've started blogging after the birth of my first daughter, after seeing some pages at a craft fair.
on the internet, I had already seen this word "scrapbooking" while searching some new fonts ;)
I'm coming back to my post coz I think I didn't answer your question in my initial excitement. I started the hobby in Jun 2009 wanting to 'decorate' my albums of travel photos from my first trip to UK. I didn't want windows and windows of photos that didn't tell a story. And I didn't want my album to look like a 10year old's cut and paste scrapbook.
ReplyDeleteSo the foray into the hobby when I google scrapbooking! A whole new world opened up and I've been hooked eversince.
Gone are the days where money is spent on new clothes/shoes etc. These days the fashion items give way t the scrapbook stash!!! It's been months since I bought shoes!!
