our bali trip...

Finally had a chance to do a little scrapping about the bali trip and as I was looking through all the pictures, it's definitely a place I would love to visit again... the food, the people, the culture and of course the spa sessions.

Also did this for this month Made With Love assignment, where the focus is all about recycling. For this I choosed to work with the prima packaging from all the gorgeous flowers that I have been using and hoarding. I'm sure many of you have noticed the gorgeous packaging materials that manufacturers are coming out with now a days - where some of them are as nice as the pattern papers themselves.

Photobucket

I added abit of shimmerz blingz on the flowers and other cut outs and aren't those bees the cutest, really glad that I got that stamp set.

Photobucket

The mini album is almost done, all the pictures have been added, the sub-title/captions are done.... but what's left is the journaling bits. I still trying to find where I can buy some transparencies that can be printed on with ink jets (no luck so far)... anyone know in singapore?

And on the back side, I used the journaling tags from the pink paislee queen bee collection to cover up the barcodes and some printed details, but left the rest as is. Really love the color and the distress look of these packagings.

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper: pink paislee (queen bee collection); cork embellishment, ribbon, stamp: pink paislee; mist: maya road (charcoal); glimmer: shimmerz blingz (pixie dust); alpha: american crafts (large), basic grey (small)

thanks for stopping by and don't forget to hold on to your prima packaging...

alittle bit of this and that...

I'm just loving bright colors lately and i think this one says it all... I would never have thought to use orange a year ago (boy have I come along way since then), but just love how this layout turned out!

The various pattern papers are from the Studio Calico April kit and the gorgeous fabric flower is from this adorable online store here in singapore "Needle & Thread" selling these gorgeous fabric designs. The owner, Magdalene, send me a few sample pieces to play with and I'm just having so much fun mixed the traditional scrapbook supplies with fabric.

Photobucket

Also having fun with one of Stamping Bella's latest stamp releases "thoughts"; I just love these memo stamps and I think there's a total of 9 different phrases to play with and trying out the new ink pads from American Crafts (I definitely need to get all of them now - just love the idea that the ink pads are on the top, unlike other pads that are on the bottom).

And here's a close up of the flower that I cut from the gorgeous fabric from Needle & Thread and frayed the sides abit... (oops maybe I should have ironed it abit first)

Photobucket

And another addiction of mine lately... these gorgeous doilies from my favorite etsy store Sweet Vintage; I just love all her goodies and boy do they disappear super fast tooo (I think most of her stuff were sold out in matter of hours after being listed).

Photobucket

Also a big thanks to everyone for all your coments, they truely made my day and also all the recommendations! You guys are the BEST!!!

Color Combos Galore #146

I'm a bit late in posting this... but the new colors are up on the color combos galore website and you'll just love this one... and boy was it a challenge for me. If there's one color that I don't scrap with, it would definitely be purple and therefore was the driver in doing this week color combo... really wanted to see what I could come up that included purple.

Photobucket

Also was a bit late in posting this because I made a few changes here and there (and still not too happy about it). For some reason when I saw the layout being posted on the CCG website, I just didn't like how it looks and how unbalanced it felt... so went with a bolder font for the title and switched around the journaling.... what do you guys think?

the before....
Photobucket

and the after.... I know, the title still doesn't feel right (and is abit off balance, I really can't work with anything else other than straight lines).

Photobucket

and just loving these blooms from prima, been hoarding them for awhile now...

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper, flowers, crystals, flower centers: prima, alphas, leaf pins: maya road; ink: tim holtz
inspired by: prima june BAP sketch

even after the changes, still don't really like the overall look of the layout. not sure what's been happening lately but spent the day today fixing layouts (this is my third one in which I re-did something)... but at the moment, just clueless in what to do with it... oh well, but I really hope i get my mojo back really soon as there's a few assignments due next week. :(

thanks for stopping by.

Photobucket

Photobucket

my YSS GDT layouts...

I thought I would share here some of the layouts that I did for last month GDT spot at yourscrapbookstash... using some of my all time favorite 7 Gypsies goodies...

Photobucket

The pictures are from an older trip to indonesia and had these printed for a while now, but never really getting a chance to scrap them. This time around, I wanted to have a clean look on the pages but still have that vintage feel and therefore did a bit of distressing around the papers and also on these circle die cuts too...

Photobucket

And here's another one, but this time around its a 8.5x11 page (if you haven't try making one of these, you really should give it a go - might be challenging at first as there's less space to work with, but for me, I'm really liking this size page more and more).

Photobucket

Photobucket

Also have you seen the post on the american crafts blog? Interested in some adhesives? Check out the details here....

Photobucket

Also don't forget to stop over here tooo... for some more "yummy" inspirations!

Thanks for stopping by and hoping that everyone is having a super great week. I know I am although there's alot of long hours this week at the office, but there was something that happended earlier this week that pretty much made my week (and months for me).

and more magpie club...

here's another layout I did using the magpie club june kit - which is now sold out, within 2 days of being launched (congrats Tara)! I really recommend that if you are interested, do subscribe @ Magpie Club as these kits are disappearing like hot cakes!

for this layout, I went with a picture that I've been holding onto for a while now - it was taken during our trip to australia - for me, it really captures that fact that sometime its the simple things that makes us most happy... a book and a glass of wine...

Photobucket

once again, working with 8.5 x 11" pages, I really can't get enough of these and also noticed that when I'm stuck on ideas - working on these size pages really help in getting my creative juices flowing again.

also here's another stamp from the latest release by Stamping Bella..."the facts"... I've been addicted to their journaling stamps lately, just can't stop using them and are definitely a must have! and also finally getting a chance to play with the studio calico rub-ons, been wondering if I should have gotten these and vola... Tara has read my mind (again).

Photobucket

I also used the rub-on packaging to mat the photo (the blue pattern paper). I have to say, I'm really impressed with the manufacturers now a days - making everything usable.

Photobucket

Thanks for stopping by and do check back for more magpie club samples, still have my take on this month sketch challenge to share (but currently waiting on some details).

Magpie Club June Kit...

you'll just love the mix of goodies in the Magpie Club June Kit... there's yummy jillibean soup, lily bee, american crafts, studio calico, a bit of pebbles, cosmo cricket and even some 7 gyspies. It's just amazing what Tara has included and definitely one of my favorite thus far!

first is this layout that is long over due... the pictures are from a BBQ that we had last year at our apartment complex with my collegues from work. this was the first ever BBQ that we had since we moved to Singapore and honestly I don't remember when was the last one that I put together. It was really wonderful to just hang out with everyone (including the clients) and laughing over some yummy food and beer! (and these are only 6 pics out of over 50 pics we took that day)...

Photobucket

and finally having a chance to play with those jillibean soup flowers and loving that gorgeous tag that Tara stamp for us!

Photobucket
(string is not included in the kit)

and here's another layout I did using jillibean soup and lily bee (for the background)... and yes, that is my number one destination - Granada, Spain. The view was just amazing!!!

Photobucket

and just loving the sticker labels and lettering from jillibean soup (I need more of these)...

Photobucket
(string and thread are not included in the kit)

don't you just love all the goodies... do check back later in the week for a few more projects using the magpie club june kit and also the june sketch challenge...

thanks for stopping by!!
