Counting down....

It has been super busy the last few days as I try to complete all my assignments for this month and a bit of next - for AC, MWL, CP and Stamping Bella (my last month as their GDT - **frowning face**). There's no magpie for March, as unfortunately Tara was not able to get the kit out to me in time, but she has some sneaks over at her blog... and it's super yummy. She also has this cute post on American vs. England (maybe I should do one for Thailand vs Singapore).

And finally the class samples are done!!! or atleast 99% done - everytime I look at them, I always end up adding a little bit here and there, removing this and then adding that and maybe that wasn't the right papers to use... and so on. If you haven't already guess, I'm really nervous! This is my first time putting a class together, let alone even teach one... and a big thanks to everyone for all your support and cheering, truly means alot... and here are some sneaks of my two classes (really sneaking this in)...

class #1 - calendars & layouts

Hope you guys see something that you're interested & hopefully will see you at the classes @ MWL. I don't have the class schedules yet, but will definitely let you know.

And for more exciting news.... VACATION!!! Yeap, this time next week I'll be somewhere in Australia (really mean somewhere) - the plan is to fly into Sydney and then drive to Melbourne (stopping a long the way, having some wine, a few nature walks) and then back to Sydney. This will be both mine & ruben's first time in Australia and definitely can't wait (leaving this sunday already for two weeks - super super super excited!).

And I was wondering... if anyone has any recommendations for food or must try restaurants, places to visit (that's not in the rough guide book) and plus where are the must visit scrapbook stores. **wink**

Thanks everyone for stopping by... and off to continue planning for the trip.

a little bit of collage press...

For my Collage Press assignment this month, I used the sweet shoppe collection as all I can think about lately, is the yummy yummy mango that we can get in Thailand. We bought some at the supermarket here in Singapore last week and had to throw away one (out of three) as it was just too too sour to eat. I would highly like to recommend that if you are ever in Bangkok - don't forget to stop by a dessert store call "Mango Tango" - guarantee that you'll love it!

For this layout... I first started with a bit of misting at the top of the cardstock page (ever since I got my maya road mists - I haven't been able to put them down) and just love how the misting pattern blends with the those of the papers.

Photobucket

And to give the page a more vintage feel, I also distressed the edges of the pleat with a sanding block... and just love the effect. Will definitely be doing more of this in the future.

Photobucket

Don't forget to check out the Collage Press blog for more details... and also coming soon... details on the new collection! Unfortunately I can't say too much at the moment... but will definitely be "refreshing" one **wink**

and do you remember this layout... thank you 7Gypsies and can't wait to start working with the stamps (still waiting for them to arrive thou)!!

and as always, thanks for stopping by :)

couldn't resist...

Finally thought I would give the banner trend a try (and now addicted... I already have another layout in the works) and using the gorgeous dear lizzy collection from american crafts. When I first saw this collection at my LSS... I just couldn't help splurging on about everything from it!!!

supplies used included:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper: american crafts - dear lizzy collection; punch - martha stewart (butterflies) and EK Sucess (circles); chipboard alphas: american crafts; stamps: technique tuesday; others: baker's twine, dew drops
inspired for: a million memories - banner challenge

And now... off to complete my class samples and yes I will be teaching two classes - one is a mini album and the other is a mix of calendars and layouts; just super excited and definitely can't wait to share some sneaks with everyone. :)

Not really sure...

have you ever finished a layout and still weren't really sure if that's how you wanted it to look like or if there was something else that you can do, can add or even change... well that's kinda what I feel about this one.

Photobucket

not really sure if it's finished, not really sure if that was what I initially had in mind... not really sure I like it, but at least it helped me used up my old stash of little yellow bicycle - these papers are from their previous valentine collection "love letters" (I still can't believe where all the stuff came from). And just to think, there's just so much more that I would love to have from the new CHA collections.

Photobucket

and if you noticed, there's a certain trend going on with my pages. the yellow theme, the misting and the twine (yes... in love with these). and check out that amazing stamp from Stamping Bella - "10 things I love about you" - super versitile too, imagine not inking the words and volla - you got a mini memo pad.

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts (white); pattern paper: little yellow bicycle; stamp: stamping bella and daisy bucket (circle); stickers: little yellow bicyle; chipboard letters: american crafts; mist: maya road - sunflower yellow; others: buttons; baker's twine

well off to bed now... and feel free to leave any pointers or what you think of this layout.
thanks

Friends...

Hoped everyone had a sweet valentine and a super great weekend! As for me, I don't know where my days went, the next thing I know it was already dinner time today.

And also luckily I got my scrappy mood back and finally finished this layout that I started a few days back for the MME Sketch Challenge... and a little something for my friend... (hope you like this & I should be back in BKK around april for drinks again ja).

Photobucket

I first started out with the pink and red theme (as per the challenge) and then somewhere along the way... yellow started coming in and then the greens and bits of brown. I hope this still fits the challenge criteria - I really started with the pinks and reds.

Photobucket

Finally got my sizzix machine out... but first dusted the dust that has been collecting there for a long while now... and finally put it to some good use. Just love how these flowers turned out.. you will definitely be seeing more of these!

Photobucket

And don't you also love that stamp - another one from stamping bella - and it says it all.

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: bazzill basic (kraft) and american crafts (green); pattern paper: my mind's eye - beloved collection; chipboard letters: american crafts; stamp: stamping bella; ribbon: maya road; punch: martha stewart; others: baker's twine, buttons, thread, yellow felt

not much...

I haven't had much time to scrap in the last few days.... or atleast I think so. And am not sure where all my time has gone, but the next thing I know it's already 7pm and I haven't done much of anything at all (which also includes cleaning up the apartment and a million other non-scrapbooking related activities). Strange, I guess its the knowing that I have 3 months to do it and so... always putting things off till later....

but found this layout as I was re-arranging my files and realized that I haven't had a chance to share it yet...

(studio calico - friends)

The pictures where taken at my wedding reception - with two of my best friends. a big thank you guys for all your help that special day. I don't think I would have made it through the day without all of you.

Also in the hand stitching craze at the moment (although I have just bought a sewing machine - about 3 weeks ago - and it's still in the original box! I reallly have to at least take it out of the box... right?, but can't wait to try it out!). And also finally using up some of the studio calico kits that I have been hoarding for the longest time ever...

Thanks for stopping by... and a big thanks for all the wonderful comments (please do also update your email address or blog as would also love to stop by yours or be able to get in touch with you).

ps. have been busy preparing for some classes... finally decided on the the papers to be used (and hoping to be able to teach them sometime in march and april) **wink**

Experimenting with Mist

This month assignment for made with love, the design team got to play with various mediums; from ink, mist to paint. For this week, I choose to experiment first with mist (tattered angel glimmer mist, maya road mist and shimmer spritz - trying everything).

Usually I would spray abit of mist here and there or on chipboard elements, but for this week's project I decided to try misting the cardstock to create my own pattern paper (and had fun combining the different colors together). I've been seeing various works by a lot of amazing scrappers out there, but never got around to trying it out till now...

Photobucket
[Basic Grey - 2010 New Beginnings]

Misted the white cardstock with the various colors, on some I combined multiple colors whereas on other cards, kept it to one and added some embellishments/rubons.

[removed for publication]

The picture below of us, isn't that great (not focus) but just couldn't resist using it still, for some reason the pictures of us together are really hard to find...

[removed for publication]

You really have to see this layout in person, with all the glimmer mist used... this layout is one stellar glimmer! and finally using my basic grey nook & pantry papers (been hoarding these for a while now).

[removed for publication]
supplies used include:
cardstock: bazzil (kraft), american crafts (white); pattern paper: basic grey nook & pantry collection; rubons and overlays: hambly; chipboard alphas and elements: american crafts; mini sticker alphas: jenni bowlin; brads and buttons: american crafts; pin: maya road; punch: martha stewart; mist: maya road mist (yellow), tattered angels (burnt red, carmel; spanish moss, forest green, marshmellow), shimmer spritz (treasured hymn); stamp: stamping bella; others: baker's twine

and here's another layout... that I did of my mother. We took this picture over the new year trip in thailand at hua hin and I think it was on the way back to bangkok that we stopped by this tourist place where old buildings had been preserved and decorated with old furniture. My mother isn't really cooking here, but maybe remembering the days when she was young and when that particular dessert was easier to find...

Photobucket

and finally got out my studio calico kit (october kit)... but still added some of my own goodies too, like the crochet flower below... just love love love this!

Photobucket

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper: basic grey (red, brown), october afternoon (yellow); rubons: hambly; flower centers: prima; pin: maya road; mist: tattered angels (artic blue, carmel); chipboard letters: american crafts; stamp: stamping bella; others: baker's twine
inspired for: Studio Calico Sketch Challenge and by Nicole Harper amazing work

Thanks for stopping by again and a special thanks to everyone for your support on my goodies.

family time...

I just realized that I haven't had the chance to share this 2 page layout that I did a while ago... of my sister and DH during our trip to BKK earlier in the year. (and I know I'm using this photo again, but just love it. it's not everyday that I managed to take one that I just love).

Photobucket

I have to admit that I usually don't do 2 page layouts, but then I do... the layout is a challenge in itself. How to ensure that the design still flows to the second page and also making sure that everything all line up. (The later is usually the problem, I tend to forget about the second page and work on them seperately. Tip - for 2 page layouts, it's best to work on both the pages at the same time.)

Photobucket

And for my new technique of the week (one of my resolutions this year - is to try a new technique every week) is to first mist the paper that will be used for journaling... and don't you just love the effect that it has... (I also mixed up the sequence of the strips after I had cut them).

Photobucket
supplies used: cardstock: bazzill basic (kraft) and american crafts (brown); pattern paper: basic grey - origins collection; flowers and flower centers: prima; alphas: american crafts; die cut and stickers: basic grey - origins collection; mist: maya road - sunflowers.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out my post below for some yummy flowers :)

Flowers and more...

Anyone interested in some flowers? This time around, I picked out the bright and bold colors... figured with summer not too far away, these selections should be perfect for all the new CHA items (I just went crazy selecting the flowers and didn't realize just how many I had bought until I tried to fit everything into my luggage, almost big ooops). In addition to the flowers, I also found more leaves and ribbons (my favorites)...

Due to the amount of flowers that I got this time around, I spilt the collections into two packs based on the colors (you'll love both, I know I do... **wink**).

Photobucket

Photobucket

and need any additional leaves?? (these all come with the wire stem that you can either cut or remove).

Photobucket

Remember that new place I was telling you about, well check out what I found. Aren't these crochet flowers just gorgeous? Seeing all these... I'm just so tempted to try making some (maybe I'll pick up a new hobby during my leave - **piradee's serious thinking face**)

Flowers Pack #3: Total of 4 flowers; each measuring about 2.5 inches in diameter = $6 SGD (3 sets remaining)
Photobucket

and another wonderful find. I just love these ribbons (as you can pretty much tell) and went totally crazy when the store personel brought out the catalog with over 50 colors to choose from. The only catch was that you had to buy these in bulk (not sold by the yard) and therefore grab these 10 colors first. Hope there's some interested in these too... as much as I love them, I'm not so sure what I'll do with all of them.

Ribbon Pack: Total of 20 yards (2 yards of each color) = $8 SGD (2 sets remaining) SOLD OUT
Photobucket

wow... didn't realize how much I picked up during my short trip back, I think if I stayed there any longer I might be in big big trouble. As always, please drop an email by letting me know what you are interested in and how many of each. Please note that there are limited quantities available and will confirm back to you on a first come basis. thanks again.

Magpie Club February Kit

I'm back in sunny singapore, after spending a few days at home in bangkok. It was definitely good to be back home, although I didn't do much other than run some errands and play with all the adorable puppies. And then of course, I did a lot of shopping... both at the chatujuk market and also at new place that my mother brought me too... (not sure what the place is called, but it's just like another chatujuk but for fabric and all related goodies). Can't wait to show everyone what I found... so don't forget to check back in the next few days...

for now.... would like to share the layouts that I did for magpie club with their yummy x2 february kit!!

This is definitely one of my favorite layout... and having fun with the bright colors (and also the new martha stewart punches that I got).

Photobucket

Photobucket
supplies include: felt heart & bracket; american crafts paper (pink); pink paislee paper (blue); making memories (cream); jenni bowlin embellishments; stamping bella stamp

And here's another one of ruben... with the gorgeous jenni bowlin papers and that super adorable heart lace die cut (I'm dying to know where Tara got these!).

Photobucket

Photobucket
supplies include: jenni bowlin papers; american craft alphas; american crafts vinyl die cuts; jenni bowlin buttons

For this layout... I've been trying out some of the picture effects from the picasa software; black and white background with color center (what do you think?)... and also a 8 x 11 layout (I think this is the first one that I've done). Hope my sister likes this...

Photobucket

Don't you just love all the yummy goodies that Tara has put together? Don't forget to stop by the magpie club website for more details... I think there's still some kits left, but you better hurry - these kits have been known to sell out fast.

Thanks again for stopping by... and don't forget to check soon for all the goodies that I got from bangkok.
