"a slice of the good life"

This week has passed by in a flash and can't believe that the weekend has already started even thou there's still so many things that I needed to do before then (and obviously haven't done yet).  And to add on to it... I need to go back to BKK this weekend to run some errands... lol (wishing there was 48 hours in a day).

Although it has been a crazy week but I have to admit that it definitely has been an interesting one.  Starting with our chinese new year vacation to Manado, Indonesia; where we spent the long weekend snorkeling in the crystal clear blue sea.  I will definitely say that it was beyond expectations and anything that I ever thought could be.  The corals were amazing and I don't think I have ever seen so many fish - especially that up close!  But unfortunately there is also a down side of it (in which I'm still paying the dear price) - SUNBURNED!!  Yeap, its the first time for me and literally half of my body is killing me...

So before crawling to my gate, thought I would share this recent layout that I created using American Craft Amy Tangerine goodies (I know - I just can't get enough of this collection); of my trip late last year to Belgium (truly enjoying the good life there).

Photobucket

I opted to keep the overall design of the layout really simple and instead focused on the design of the pattern papers and "white space"; but still having some fun in the details... also mixed in some pebbles goodies (kraft butterflies)...

Hosting a New Scrap This & That Challenge!!

Hi Everyone, just wanted to share that I'm hosting this week's Scrap This & That Challenge over at Made With Love and hope you guys will be joining in on the fun!

This time around its a color challenge and would love to see what you guys will create with these fun spring colors - yellow, green, kraft and brown.  And here's my take to get your creativity started...

Photobucket

And also here's my source of inspiration for this color challenge... when I first saw this picture on pintrest, I knew this would be perfect.  some fun to celebrate the beginning of the new year... SPRING!  Bring on the sunshine and flowers!

Photobucket

And sharing some details from the layout.  I went with a simple grid design and varied the details a bit from square to square.... putting my beloved studio calico wooden butterflies and some yummy amy tangerine washi tape to good use...

Crate Paper + Lion Dance = CNY!

A very happy Chinese New Year everyone and wishing you the very best and prosperous year! For my Made With Love assignment this month, we were asked to create a project celebrating CNY and what better  topic for me than to capture the moments of the lion dance...

Photobucket

At first, I wasn't sure what papers I would use for this project and especially where I would be able to find CNY related ones; until I realized that valentine collections are actually perfect for this topic - as long there's a bit of red, then why not.   So getting out Crate Paper - Paper Heart collection, I got to work creating this layout; focusing on the main color red with pops of yellow and turquoise.

Photobucket

Also I couldn't resist adding some mist to the layout, to contrast against the colors and also add a bit of character to the white space...

Photobucket

And lastly, to add a bit more dimensions to the layout I also curled up the ends of some of the pattern papers...

Photobucket

Thanks everyone for stopping by and wishing you all a very HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!

finding inspiration...

its funny how this layout was created and it started by chance when I saw this month sketch challenge over at MME.  Then digging into my MME stash, I found that I had purchased some of their latest kraft collection but haven't had a chance to use them just yet... and then within in minutes, vola! had this done. don't you just love when everything just comes together and sometimes its all about having fun with the products and exploring your creatively...

Photobucket

the theme for the sketch challenge is "new" and for me, its having the opportunity to explore new places and experience different culture, like our long weekend in Lombok, Indonesia. especially here in this picture, we finally reached the main destination of our hike and simply was enjoying the waterfall in the background.

Photobucket

and don't you just love these embellishments, I couldn't resist piling a few pieces here...and was super excited when I saw that MME had these wooden sayings, at the moment I'm just crazy for all things wood and grab a few packs of these... also finally getting out those stamps that I've been collecting (these are also from MME - same collection)

Photobucket

I really do wish now that I had bought a few pieces of these pattern papers - both the white alphabet and flower sheets - just love the effect of the white one (especially when you stamp on it) and also the fun colors in this collection and how it contrast with the kraft color... oh, gotta to see if my LSS still have these...

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Sharing Some Lily Bee Love...

hi everyone, sharing some close ups of the cards that I have up on the Lily Bee blog yesterday; using the gorgeous Heads Over Heels collection.  This collection is definitely one of my favorite valentine collection from this release - loving the sweet colors and that turquoise touch!

first is this card where I used the saying from the mix cardstock stickers as the focal point and included some heart details...

Photobucket

for the second card, I wanted to create little pockets where I included some tags and these are perfect for your card title or little love notes...

Photobucket

and on this last one, I went all out with these mini clothes pins...

Photobucket

also sharing a layout I had created previously, also using the Heads Over Heels collection along with Lily Bee's latest product "index cards".... don't you just love that one :)

Photobucket

and some close ups...

Thanks for stopping by everyone hope you guys have a super great weekend and stay tune for the first installment of my CHA W 2012 wishlist!!!

some amy tangerine goodness

with all the sneaks going up yesterday on the new Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection (which are a must have - don't you love the watercolor effect and all those hand draw elements); I just couldn't resist having some fun with the current collection and also sharing my favorite photo from the Lombok trip.

Photobucket

Also using some goodies from the latest Amy Tangerine release - pocket envelops and some new die cuts... and putting those mixtapes to good use

Photobucket

And would say that the highlight of my trip to Lombok was our day trip to the Gili islands for snorkeling. Wow - the water there is crystal clear blue and the sand is absolutely fine white -  I honestly I just wanted to sit there forever; in absolute bliss...

Photobucket

Thanks everyone for stopping and for the wonderful comments; it still feels like a dream.

Exciting News!!!!

This is already an unbelievable year and I keep pinching myself from time to time, to make sure that it's all real.

Photobucket

First, I'm so honored to part of the Pink Paislee Design Team again this year - thank you so much Rebecca for this amazing opportunity and Danielle for the sweet introductions.  I absolutely love working with Pink Paislee and can't wait to start cutting into the new collections (you guys are going to LOVE them). Don't forget to stop by Pink Paislee blog to see the full details and some fun Q&A.

Photobucket

And what caught me by surprise (and seriously this is beyond a dream come true), was an email from sweet Christine with an invitation to be part of the Winter/Spring 2012 Crate Paper Design Team.  I'm not quite sure where to start or how to describe how I felt (and still feel), but as you know I love Crate Paper and took me only a second to reply with YES!  THANK YOU Lisa, Christine and everyone at Crate Paper!!!

And most all, thank you to guys for your constant support in my scrapping journey.

Fancy News, AC Shares & Winner Details!

Hi Everyone, hope you're having an amazing weekend. I've got a few things to share today... starting with this fun "fancy" news.  I'm so honored to be part of the Fancy Pants Pocket Chick Team for 2012 - thank you Jodi and Amy for this amazing opportunity; and I've been having tons of fun with the new collections (you guys are going to love them)!!!

Photobucket

And sharing some projects that I created earlier this year, using some American Crafts - Amy Tangerine collection.  Also this year, I've decided to jump on the project life bandwagon but will be adapting it a bit to what works best for me. The idea is to still capture everyday moments - the good and the bad, the little things in life and of course, those important dates and topics too. I've opted for a 6"x8" layout size and will be using bits and pieces from my current stash.  Also part of the approach is to create the pages before hand, leaving room for the pictures and journaling, so that when something comes up I could record the details right away.

Here are some about my recent trip to Penang, where I had the pages done before the trip and once I came back (and while the details were still fresh) - I had these done in flash...
