PL 2014 :: Week 1 - Loving this year!

Back to share my project life spread that I created with Cocoa Daisy Day In A Life Kit, although the kit is more loved theme (perfect for this month) but for me, it was the perfect kit to kick start the year with. We were very lucky to have hubby's parents visit us during the holidays from Belgium and then my high school buddies flew over (from Bangkok) for the night to see little Sophia. That title card (below) pretty much says it all.

For this year PL, I decided to go with a slightly bigger size album/page 8.5" x 11" and actually do love it more than the handbook size as I can also include the full size (being 8.5" x11") layouts. And yes, I'm not over gold yet, you'll definitely be seeing lots more of it cause I've been buying up all the gold embellishments that I can find..

And it just amazes me just how much she is growing day by day... my little sweet sophia.

Thanks guys for stopping by. The day in the life kit is already sold out at Cocoa Daisy, but definitely recommend their kits. Lots of fun goodies and the quality of these cards are great too!

Love "Color Swatch" Kit from Cocoa Daisy

happy 2014 everyone!  I know I'm pretty late in wishing everyone the new year, but the year so far has been a good busy crazy one (if that makes sense). little sophia has been keeping us busy but in a good way and it's just amazing how fast she is growing. she'll be 4 months on Feb 1st. already right?

also I had the opportunity to guest design for Cocoa Daisy this month using their amazing February kits and loved everything. especially that exclusive pattern paper from their Color Swatch kit (I couldn't stop using it on all the layouts). and still can't believe this amazing opportunity - thanks so much Christine & Emily!

 photo CDPrecious1_zpseb252ae8.jpg

using a mix of products from the main kit Color Swatch and papers from add-on Palette. also adding some stamping details using the Colorful Life Stamp Set...

 photo CDPrecious2_zps687ec817.jpg

and for this fun layout of me and sophia, most of the products are from the main kit with one of the pattern paper used from palette. I went for a more contrasting look on this layout - mix the soft pastel colors with the striking black colors. honestly wasn't sure how this would turn out, but loved it!

and again the fun color mix with a simple and clean layout...

LYB Just Because Collection

Hi Guys,

Back to share a few more projects created using Little Yellow Bicycle Just Because collection.  For these projects, I opted to focus on the red, navy, grey and white colors in the collection and of course adding in some silver with sequins (again).

For this first layout, I started by cutting out the vellum heart pieces using the cameo and then layered a few punched hearts on top. Just love how the vellum adds enough details to the layout without overwhelming everything (subtle touches). Also used the cardstock stickers in place of journaling (they pretty much says it all) and loving the washi tape stickers that are in the collection (tons of designs to choose from).

and a few close ups on the details...

And another project that I created to celebrate valentine were these fun "love" coupons. A little booklet of cards for dearest hubby... also using Just Because collection and some awesome silver/platinum twine from The Twinery.

Guesting for Color Conspiracy & a Giveaway! *CLOSED*

Hi Everyone!

This month I had the honor to guest design for Color Conspiracy (thank you Maya for this amazing opportunity) and worked with two of their amazing collections: Daily Kate and Texturize (the layouts here are created using the gorgeous Daily Kate collection).  I just love the color combination - blue, yellow and gray and the fun graphic designs of the pattern papers and had these created in no time...

 photo CCHappiness1_zps0765ea2c.jpg

Having some fun with the cameo and with my favorite butterfly punch from EK Success... and yes more sequins!

 photo CCHappiness4_zpsc4c37362.jpg

For my second layout, I kept things simpler but still went with the circular design and was inspired by the blue pattern paper ... love the sun burst and paint splatters designs (I also added more of my own with the studio calico white mist).

 photo CCMontepulciano1_zps27ab088a.jpg

and am totally addicted to the various wood embellishments and using these in almost all of my projects at the moment...

Also how can you not love the amount and variations of embellishments that you can find in Little Yellow Bicycle collections... love love love!

Sharing here few close ups of the layout that I created based on this sketch challenge this month. Full details HERE along with the sketch used. Hope you guys join on the fun and can't wait to see your take on the sketch!

 photo LYBLoveThis3-001_zpsb2562e02.jpg

Don't you love love the different elements in this collection and also the touches of silver here and there! And as you can tell, I went absolutely silver crazy on this layout and even added in silver sequins!  LOL

 photo LYBLoveThis5-001_zpsc4cfa94a.jpg

And thought I would share some "Just Because" goodies with a lucky reader here (as the Little Yellow Bicycle folks were very generous and this is one huge collection).  I'm giving away the remaining embellishments and a new 6x6 paper pad (will also be including the used sticker sheets - had forgotten to include them in the pictures).  Although these might not be brand new/full packs) but there's still quiet a lot of yummy goodies left...

If you're interested, just leave me a comment on this post by midnight Friday Feb 8th and will announce the winner over the weekend (open to all).

More CSI Special Agent Projects

Hello Everyone Hello February!

Sharing a few more projects that I did for CSI (Color Stories Inspiration) this past month. The first one here is for their Case File No. 55 (full details of the challenge HERE).  I loved the earth tone colors in this one and it really challenged me to search through my stash for the right colors. Mixing in a bit of American Crafts, Pebbles, MME and Studio Calico.

 photo Singapore2_zps23fd59b3.jpg

And absolutely loving those alphabet stickers from Amy Tangerine collection - not only are they just the right size but love love that transparency look! Hoping that there'll be more of these coming out in the new collections...

 photo Singapore5_zps4641aa6e.jpg

And listing out the 6 reasons why we love it here...

And here's another fun layout I created for Case File No. 56 challenge (full details of challenge HERE), using a mix of products from American Crafts, Basic Grey, Echo Park, Pebbles, Maya Road and Crate Paper. The design of this layout was inspired by the case file photo and wanted to document some we had on our recent trip to Vietnam. As you can see from hubby's reaction when he tried a local delight (betel chew) - it was a little more than what he could handle. LOL

More Studio Calico & Giveaway! **CLOSED**

Hi Everyone,

Sharing a few more layouts that I created with this month's kits from Studio Calico. Seriously, I just love love the fun colors that were in the various kits and how each add-on coordinates easily with each other!

This is definitely another favorite of mine.... I took inspiration from the "take note" pattern paper from Pebbles and went absolutely crazy (just like we were during our vacation in New Zealand).  Loving the speech bubbles look at the moment and also the printables from studio calico made the perfect embellishments.

And a fun close up of the stamps that were in the add-on kit and having fun with one of my typewriters... loving this techno font!

Photobucket

On this layout, I went with a cleaner look and opting to create my embellishment cluster in one main area; layering the different elements together and even squeezed in one of those adorable wood feathers.

Now here's an even cleaner layout.  Keeping things simple here and playing on the arrow stamp (stamped on vellum paper to give it more dimension).

And for this layout, I wanted to try something different - having the focus be on the wordings rather than the embellishments or picture. Sometimes the words are worth a thousand pictures. LOL

Thanks everyone for stopping by and please do stop by my gallery on Studio Calico this month for more details on each of the layouts.

And to kick start the week, how about a small giveaway with goodies from this month kits. Most of items included are new and unopened packs with the exceptions of the loose items that you see here... (the washi tape roll is a new one from the main kit). If you're interested do leave me a comment on this blog post by midnight this Thursday Nov 8th.

Thanks again everyone and specially to the wonderful folks at Studio Calico for this fun opportunity!
