Back to share a little mini album I made a few weeks back for my Maya Road and Chic Tag swap assignment. I had tons of fun creating this, mixing different textures together and also a little bit of paint here and there too... and oh yes, I'm so addicted to all things cork and gold (in case you haven't noticed).
I used the linen mini album from Maya Road (seriously, I'm ordering more of these) which gave me a lot of freedom to test and try different techniques. First off... I painted the sides with gold paint (bought a huge bottle of Martha Stewart gold paint) before adhering a mix of embellishments.... a little bit of cork (from my friend's shop Happie Scrappie), a felt flower, chipboard elements, wood embellishment, transparency and metal charm. That's a big mix (at least in my book, it is).
Then on one of the pages inside, I put my Tim Holtz tag mask to some good use (using white paint), adding just enough paint to give the page a different feel but still highlighting the fabric behind it.
Then I added in a few more pages by sowing a few sheets of pattern paper and vellum pages onto one of the fabric page. Once again more transparencies and vellum (and yes gold). Just loving how you can layer the various transparencies on top of each other to create another look and giving a little peek-a-boo feel on the pages behind it.
On the vellum page, I kept it pretty simple but notice the little picture peeking from behind. :)
And another set of pages that I added onto the album...
And my little missy...
And finishing the last page with a bit more paint, contrasting cork embellishment and a little quote... love you to the moon and back!
If you haven't had a chance to work with these linen albums, would definitely recommend. Honestly was inspired to get out my paint. LOL
And would like to share some of the goodies I used with one of you guys. I've got an a new pack of the journaling tags from Chic Tags, random mix of the newly released Maya Road products and a sample set of cork die cut/embellishments from a dear friend Happie Scrappie to giveaway. Just leave a comment on this blog post by April 18th.
Thanks again for stopping and hope you have a super great weekend!!!!
