Snap Shot Functionality??

thanks for stopping by... and please let me know what you think of the "snap shot functionality"...

i just discovered this snap shot feature whereby if you place your cursor on the link - a small box would pop up showing the latest updates. i think it's a really great way to see if the website/blog has been updated since i last visited it... however, still trying to figure out how to enable this for only selected links (and not everything like it is now).... but on the other hand, sometimes i also find it annoying....

... so, please let me know if you find this useful or more annoying...

thanks again for visiting :)

General Chatter...

hi there

Sitting with my computer on the balcony and enjoying the fresh saturday morning. Such as nice day to today in singapore... I haven't a clue at what I will be doing today or tomorrow, but it's been good so far and sometimes, not doing anything is about the best thing - don't you think? Hopefully Iwould be able to get a lot of rest this weekend... more long days at the office coming up again and again...

I don't have a layout to share today as I didn't have a chance to work on any layouts this week, but hopefully I'll have something to share tomorrow :)

What I did have time for today is a bit of scrapbook surffing... all the wonderful scrapbook sites and and not to mention - the amazing inspirations everywhere. I did come across the two peas in a bucket and was surprise that my layout made the top 10 list!!! Wow... a big thanks everyone for comments & votes.... couldn't resist a bit of tooting...

Well... off to get ready, I think will do some shopping today (scrapbook shopping that is)

All Things Cosmo Cricket

Has everyone gotten their pack of the cosmo cricket early bird collection – if you haven’t, would really recommend and also the chipboard if you have a chance, unfortunately I wasn’t fast enough to grab those too!!! As mentioned, I could not stop once I had started… and the possibilities are endless… (there’s tons of pic in this posting and therefore will try to keep things short :) - please allow a few extra minutes for all the pics to load )

Here are the layouts that I finally finished last night (was really taking my time on them)… the first is me and ruben again. I just love this picture of us together and thought it would be perfect with the tree… as we dream & grow together right? :P

Supplies used include:
Pattern paper: cosmo cricket – early bird collection; hambly prints
Embellishments: basic grey pearls, American craft yellow ribbon, fancy pants green ribbon, October afternoon alpha rub-ons
Medium/Tools: stamps from Hampton Arts, Tim Holtz and Ali Edwards, glossy accents
Inspired for: Moxie Fab World Lovely as a Tree Challenge

For the second layout… I wanted to do one to capture my scrapbooking highlights thus far; from the beginning days with MWL to making the dreamgirls DT and hopefully there would be more to add to in the future (more tags for the layout)…

Supplies used include:
Pattern paper: cosmo cricket – early bird collection; little yellow bicycle – love letter
Embellishments: basic grey pearls, doodlebug yellow ribbon, magic mesh, October afternoon alpha rub-ons, prima flowers and maya road chipboard alphas
Medium/Tools: Tattered angles glimmer mist – suede, glossy accents
Inspired for: Pencil Line Sketch #140

I'm so happy that I finally got around to make “my scrap bulletin”; have been thinking about this for awhile and these papers are just the ones. From the design to the cheerful color and the fact that I am flower crazy at the moment… perfect!!!

And last but not least, with the left-over, I made this small tag for the making memories carousel that I just got over the weekend. So happy and it’s amazing how much stuff I can squeeze in there and the ease of then getting to them. This is just the first of many more tags to come…

More cosmo cricket works can be found in my older posts:

Work In Progress

The weekends are always way too short... it's already sunday afternoon in sunny singapore. Only a few more hours, before the "work life" starts again. It's great that at least over the weekend, i can turn off the working side of me and just focus on scrapping and hanging out with ruben! Otherwise, i will definitely go crazy!!!

It's strange when I think about the dedication I used to have. Before the brussels assignment, I would stay at the office until 11:00pm and also work on the weekends. The concept of vacation didn't exist then, but then the assignment in brussels changed all that. I still remember clearly when I first arrived, the partner had pulled me aside and gave me the run down on how things are done at brussels office and then said that I needed to plan my vacation atleast one month in advance. My remark was.... i can plan for vacation??? uhmmmmm - do excuse me for rambling on and on and on... **hehheeeee**

Anyway, back to the fun part... scrapbooking! I was so thrilled that the girls @ American Craft had choosen my layout for the remarks sticker challenge, thanks so much guys!! I think this is the first challenge that I actually won!!! thank you thank you thank you!!!

Started on a few projects this weekend, a little of this and that... and here are some peaks of what I am working on...

This one is for my first DreamGirls assignment (so so excited to be part of their team)... which reminds me, have you checked out the current challenge going on, a fun color challenge --> here ... there's still a few more days left! As for this layout... yes, i went abit flower crazy (actually i think i was flower crazy the whole weekend). But then again, how could I resist the new primas that just arrived @ MWL - was standing there drooling and going... yummy must have... yummy must have... yummy must have... :)

Here are some more pics of 2 other layouts that I am currently working on.... I've seen so many layouts using the cosmo cricket - early bird collection, that i had to just get mine out and join in all the fun. And once i started, i couldn't stop! I just love these papers, the colors, the pattern... so in love!!!

Please do check back later this week for more details.... thanks again for stopping by!!! luv luv...

The Simple Things

Here's another simple layout i finished... and still on germany. These pictures were taken in bamberg, germany - another amazing town in germany. It still amazes me, how time really seems to stand still in these small towns... the houses are just like what they used to be a few hundred years ago (ok not sure if they are really that long), but they kinda do look like it with the colors and design. I remeber looking over the river that runs around the town, thinking... boy am I lucky to be here... to have this opportunity to travel through europe (and also to not mention, almost paid for - hehheee my company had assigned me to a project in brussels for almost 2.5 years).

So happy...

Supplies used incude:
pattern paper: jillibean soup collection
embellishment: jillibean soup journals, prima flowers, robin nest dew drops, maya road journaling sheers, american craft chipboard alphas
mediums: distress ink - brushed corduroy, tattered angels glimmer mist - tattered leather, american craft embossing powder - butter
inspired for: inspired blueprint sketch
& inspired for: cropaddict jillibean soup challenge

Being Together

If there's one thing i look forward to after work... is being to complain about the day to ruben. For some reason once all the frustration is out... i feel a lot better. I guess that's one of the biggest perk of being together - there's someone there for you in good times and of course bad times.

Here's a simple layout... just playing around in malacca ealier this year...

It's a Fairytale Town

I have been admiring the webster's pages collection from a far. They are absolutely gorgeous - the colors and the design, but I was never sure if i would know how to use them. Of course that was before, before today that is. My assignment this week for MWL was to work with some of Webster's Pages latest collection - sweet as cheery pie and yes they are truly as sweet.

To go along with the papers, decided to use my pictures from rothenburg, germany. This is definitely a town i would recommend to visit; it's a must. The town is just unbelievable, like it was lost in time... the houses, the cobble streets and of course the horse drawn carriage (well the later is more for the tourist, but still...)

Supplies used include:
pattern paper: webster's pages sweet as cheery pie - little nibbles, lets celebrate & fly a kite; bobunny - calypso love; jenni bowlin pattern paper; coordinations cardstock
embellishments: maya road chipboard frames and bird; maya road journaling sheers; prima flowers; doodlebug alphas; october afternoon rub-ons; misc. buttons & ribbons
mediums: distress ink - brushed corduroy; tattered angels glimmer mist - sunflower and frost
**all items can be found @ MWL**

My 1st Challenge @ MWL

Hi everyone!!!
So excited about my first challenge for MWL - please do check it out if you haven't already. Hope everyone would be joining in on the fun! Please check back - as I will be posting a peak of the rak that will be given away.

On to the fun part... the challenge is PATCH WORK!!! So, get out those needles and get ready for some stitching. For this challenge...

  1. you will need to include at least 9 squares on your layout - these can be in any size or a mixture of sizes (perfect opportunity to use those scraps)
  2. there also needs to be some stitching (and more than just XXX)... somewhere, anywhere on the layout.
  3. get those ribbons out, cause somewhere on your layout you will need to include some

Most importantly, don't forget to upload your layout to the gallery before June 30th. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. And here's my take of the challenge...

Supplies used include:
pattern paper: crate paper mia collection, jillibean soup xxx and hambly prints
embellishments: crate mia collection rub-ons, prima flowers, jillibean felt flowers, robin nest dew drops, maya road ribbon & chipboard alphas, october afternoon rub-ons, sizzix frame die cut, american craft white embossing powder, magic mesh brown and bazzill stitching threads
Just realized that i was sooo excited about the challenge that i forgot to write the story behind the picture used. The cute boy is Merijn - Ruben's nephew. He's soo soo adorable!!! and especially in this picture that was taken at our engagement lunch in Oostende and also what ever he's eating looks so so yummy!
