more on luang prabang...

Hi everyone,

A quick post to share my latest Lily Bee layout that is currently up today on the Lily Bee Blog (I hope you guys will stop by to share some love there and also for the other amazing ladies - have you seen the previous post there, where some of the ladies had asked their kids to help out. So much talent there!)

Photobucket

for this layout, I had fun with all the cardstock stickers from the Happily Lost collection - and the sayings are perfect for travel theme. also got out my maya road for a tad bit of misting.... and stamping tooo!

having fun with challenges...

boy has it been one busy weekend! started my first of series of exercise class on friday evening (yes, finally getting my butt in gear and signed up for a bunch of exercise class - hoping that these will help me get back into shape and also lose {alot} of weigh along the way!)... and then there was the mini album class on saturday and then spent the sunday cleaning up and finishing off some projects.

which then brings me to this layout that I had wanted to share earlier in the week... I had created this for the Stamping Challenge that I'm hosting over at MWL till June 26th and created based on the color challenge provided by Crate Paper (which I missed the cut off date...lol).

Photobucket

using again one of the pictures that we took while Tanya was here visiting Singapore with her family. In this one, the three of us (Pearl, Tanya and me) had met up for some lunch nearby my office then.

Photobucket

and once again...using up my ever growing stash of these gorgeous prima blooms. I just can't seem to stop by them (maybe its the 50% discount that's driving me crazy... lol). also have you seen that sunburst stamp from jenni bowlin? I'm in love!

Photobucket

and that challenge that I'm host at MWL this month is super simple... all you have to do is to include stamping somewhere... anywhere... on your layout; for more details --> click here. remember that you have until midnight June 26th to upload your layout onto the MWL Challenge Gallery to be eligible to win a $20 voucher!! (winner will be randomly selected and challenge is only open to those in singapore)

Photobucket

thanks again for stopping by everyone and hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!!

Lucky Me

back with another layout to share.... using the yummy October Afternoon 5&Dime collection. how can you not love this collection with the yummy sweet colors and those vintage imagines... **sign**

I created this layout based on a sketch provided on the October Afternoon blog and also as my assignment for Made With Love this week (hence the piles and piles of yummy you see here). Also put my sewing machine to good use too... yeap, trying to make sure that the dust stays off this time around and counting 3 weeks so far...lol

Photobucket

also just in case you are curious of the reason behind the title of this layout "Lucky Me" ... well the story goes something like this... connecting the island to the main land there are series of bridges and this one is the famous bamboo bridge that is available during the dry season. when its the raining season, the bridge is not available as the water currents are too strong in area. so as we cross the bridge to get to the resturant on the other side... we were wondering how the people managed to remove the bamboo so that it can be used to create the bridge again, in the next season. and i think about 15 mins after we crossed the bridge, we got the answer... there was this thundering sound and then... there goes the bridge... literally! yeap, lucky us!

embossing mishap....

sharing a little card that I made for the lily bee post today... a little something to celebrate mother's day....

Photobucket

I used a mix of pattern papers from the happily lost and stationary collections - the later being something that I always reach for when working on any project. I just love the range of colors and that vintage touch that they have (perfect for mixing with other brands). Also using the cameos chipboard set from maya road. I opted to cover two of the pieces with the coordinating pattern paper and for the portrait piece - I went for the embossing look. And in the mist of heating the embossing powder, there was a small mishap which resulted in the perfect vintage look that I wanted for the card (will definitely be having more of this distress embossing look in the future...)

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone... and have you guys created your mother's day card yet?

banners banners and more banners....

ok - I'll admit, I have a little something for banners (for a while now...lol) and this time around I went full out banner style. I created this layout for the Crate Paper Color Challenge earlier this month and was inspired by the inspiration photo that they had provided (here)...

Photobucket

as part of the design, I wanted some the elements to be able to move freely as if there were hung from the clothes line (as in the inspiration photo) and therefore used those cute pins from tim holtz to hold everything together and also added the crystal there for some added fun...

Photobucket

some additional details and finally catching up with the doily trend...

Photobucket

also its my first time ever using the SRM stickers (and is now my new found love - just love how you apply invisibly onto the papers and therefore looks as those the print was done directly on the pattern papers themselves (used: follow your heart sticker from the sweet collection). also I want to say THANK YOU Tanya for sending some over my way to play with (isn't she the sweetness - she sent me some SRM stickers as my B-Day prez!)

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper and stickers: crate paper - portrait collection; flower: prima; pin: tim holtz; button backing: my minds eye; crystal: maya road; twine: the twinery; butterfly punch: fiskars; flower punch: ek success; button: jenni bowlin; sticker: SRM sticker

all in all... close your eyes and follow your heart to whereever it may bring you...

thanks for stopping by everyone and how fast time has flown by... may is just around the corner already....

wood + rubons = butterfly garden

hi - just a quick post to let you guys know that I have another post up on the pink paislee blog today, to share an option in dressing up those wood cuts. (aren't they absolutely gorgeous?? have you also seen the ones from the soiree collection - banners!!!)

for my layout - I used the press ons from the butterfly garden to dress up one of the wooden butterflies...

Photobucket

Photobucket

also putting my cuttlebug to use - I just adore this embossing folder "script" and it adds the perfect and finishing touches to the layout. doesn't it give that vintage feel?

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone!!! and promise to be back soon to give you my cupcake craze updates (thank you to all my scrappy buddies for the suggestions and ACTUAL cupcakes to taste - you guys are the BEST!!!!).

ps. I'm a bit behind on my emails at the moment, been sick the past few days and therefore if you're waiting for me to get back to you... I haven't forgotten, just abit slow lately.

focusing on colors...

have you seen the new Stationery Collection from Lily Bee Design? I'm so in love with the simple patterns and colors in this collection and here's a fun layout that I recently created for the Lily Bee blog post today. I kept the layout design simple and choose to focus on the colors instead and also playing around with the front and back designs of the pattern paper.

Photobucket

and as mentioned before - addicted to this butterfly punch!! also adding in some yummy twine, in which, I'm still amazed at myself - I can't believe that I have a twine for each of the colors...yikes!!! (the brads are a given thanks to AC)...lol!

Photobucket supplies used include: cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper: lily bee design - stationery collection; brads: american crafts; twine: the twinery; punch: fiskars 2011-w release (butterfly); alpha stickers: sassafras.

thanks again everyone for stopping by!!

a little prima printer tray

happy easter everyone!!! and hope you all are having a fabulous day and weekend! I know that I'll definitely be enjoying an extra day off... doing nothing and trying to rejuvenate (atleast somewhat as I have a few working things to catch up on). guess its better than not having a day off...lol

thought I would share this little project I recently completed... lots of flowers and blooms here to welcome in the spring (and also scraplifting myself again based on the project I created for AC last spring). I wanted to have a little something that I could hang up in my crafting area - where I could post/pin up all the little things that I need to do and keepsakes and also act as a mini calendar to keep me on track...

Photobucket

I just adore these prima flowers... I've been collecting and collecting and hardly ever using them and therefore, went all out on this project.... don't you just love the various textures that these flowers have....

Photobucket

and here's my mini calendar from the jenni bowlin collection. I used the maya road spool as a stand for the pin - which mean I can constantly change the calendars through out the year...

Photobucket

more blooms... my favorite ones at the moment are those fabric flowers and the mini ones.. they're perfect for adding the final touches to any project or layout...

Photobucket

and some close up details using the gorgeous designs from the pattern paper and also keeping things simple...

Photobucket
supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper: prima; flowers, pearls and sequence: prima; ribbon: american crafts; punch: martha stewart; pearl pin and spool: maya road; pin:tim holtz; calendar: jenni bowlin; printer tray: 7gypsies

a big thanks for stopping by everyone and hope that everyone have a wonderful weekend. I know I'll be busy checking out the various cupcake stores here in singapore and do check back for my top 3 list!!!

rediscovered....

hi there everyone, just a quick post to share this layout that I found while I was reorganizing and clean up things (yes, my desk looks a little bit better now or atleast I've moved off floor and have started scrapping again on my desk... lol); i found is cute layout tucked away in the corner that I created awhile back using sassafras paper crush collection and with an old picture of us...

Photobucket

just loving white space at the moment and keeping things simple... and letting the papers themselves shine. I just love that gorgeous pattern paper - aren't the colors amazing!!!

Photobucket

and these alphas... yes, I'm a collector!!! they so verstile and the colors and designs... perfect! and some additional details... no matter how simple the layout is, I can't help adding some small details to make it more fun....

Photobucket

Photobucket

thanks again for dropping by and off to create some more layouts... I finally started using my sewing machine last night, after having bought it about 6 months ago...lol.

its days like these...

I've got another layout of my sis and her friends to share with you guys today and I know I've been in a sis scrapping mode lately, but was super honored when she asked me for a few layouts to hang/show in her new apartment in chicago; that I went (oh just a little) overboard in creating... lol

Photobucket

for this layout, I digged deep into my stash to find these papers from Prima that I thought were perfect for the fall picture but still having those vibrant and fun colors (that I'm currently lovin).

Photobucket

I first started out by spraying abit of studio calico lunch tray (blue) mist on the layout and then cutting bits and bobs from the pattern papers to embellish the page and also adding the twine, flowers and some fun flower embellishments from Webster Pages for the finishing touch...

Photobucket

supplies used include: cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper, pearls and flowers: prima; ceramic flower: webster pages; alpha stickers: basic grey; punches: ek success; ribbon: american crafts; twine: the twinery; pearl pin: maya road.

...and thought I would share with you how my scrapping area looks at the moment... a big mess everywhere!!! LOL!!! oh well, the fun and enjoy of scrapbooking, right?

starting with the piles of goodies on my desk... yeap, I've moved onto the floor to try to complete some of the projects I'm currently working on.... Photobucket

i've managed to unpack everything from the brown boxes... but looks as thou that's as far as I have managed to get done today... looks as though these might be sitting there for a while... that's until the assignments are due...lol

Photobucket

and just loving these... aren't they amazing!!! a big thank you Rebecca and Shannon for all these amazing goodies!!!

Photobucket

also.... as I try to figure out where to put everything, i started clearing out some of my older scrapbook goodies that I haven't scrapped with in a while. and was wondering if anyone was interested in some used scrapbook goodies?? used in being that the pattern papers are not full 12x12 sheets and that they have been cut into, or alpha set with some used letters, stickers, etc. if you are interested and are in singapore and would be able to pick up the items at plaza singapura - please do drop me an email. I have put together about 8 grab bags for those interested.

**sorry, but all the grab bags have been requested**

thanks for stopping by everyone!! and please do share with me your favorite cupcakes stores in singapore!! currently making my must visit cupcake craze list.

my cupcake craze

I'll be honestly, I'm not one for bright colors and wasn't too sure of this collection when I had first seen it, but once I started - couldn't stop!! I was having so much fun with my previously layout using this collection - Pink Paislee Soiree - that I couldn't resist creating another one and these pictures of the super yummy (oh boy were they good too) cupcakes, were just calling for these colors... (ps. if anyone knows of any good cupcake store in singapore - please let me know).

I also created this layout for my guest DT spot over at Once Upon A Sketch - using their second sketch for the month. I opted to rotate the sketch a bit as I really wanted to use that banner/flag stamp (also from the Pink Paislee Soiree collection).

Photobucket

also having some fun with the mist - party pink & silver sugar colors - and also bits and bobs from the collection mini notes & labels embellishment pack.

Photobucket

and a few more details of the layout... went a bit crazy on this one and couldn't stop adding things here and there....lol

Photobucket

and more butterflies...lol (i think this is the first punhc that I've used its full worth...lol).

Photobucket

supplies used include: cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper, clear stamps and embellishments: pink paislee - Soiree collection; star pins: maya road; mist: tattered angels - party pink and silver sugar; punch: fiskars 2011-w release (butterfly).

thanks again everyone for stopping by and especially Nadia for this opportunity to guest design for you guys this month - your sketches and challenges ROCK!!

and on another note - you should have seen my face when this arrived yesterday.... (but got to admit, hubby's face was priceless). a very big THANK YOU!!!
