experimenting with textures...

hi everyone, just wanted to share this layout that I created for the lily bee blog today; using a mix of older and new collections (trying to make room for all the new collections to come - aren't they gorgeous!!!). and also doing a small experimentation... contrasting the different effects (see here for more details on the rationale - however please note that it might not make the most sense)....uhmmmmm.

and putting these gorgeous blooms from pink paislee to good use...

and also got out my hamblies too...

thanks for stopping by guys and stay tune for my round of CHA must haves!!! was hoping to get this posted sooner, but photobucket is acting up on me again. (does any have problems with the upload button missing???) thanks.

Get Picky Challenge #10

hi there... the latest Get Picky Challenge is up and I had a super fun time working on this month's sketch and also using the Studio Calico June Kit - Paper Moon (with some random other bits). (click here for the original sketch)

Photobucket

I've been holding on to these pictures for awhile now (almost a year - can't believe how fast time just flown by and it'll just be a few more weeks until we see them again)...

Also this month sponsor at Get Picky is Purple Pumpkin and Samantha (the owner) has been so kind to provide some of her handmade goodies for us to work with and on this layout, I couldn't resist adding in that gorgeous orange fabric flower. LOVE It!!! I really need more of these.... And in case anyone is interested - Purple Pumpkin is currently having a guest designer contest; do check out their blog for more details!

And I've just discovered a new love, using twine for stitching... doesn't it have a fun effect?

Photobucket

And I have now fallen in love all over again with THICKERS! Aren't those chipboard alphas a must have? I definitely need another pack of these (which I am unable to find at my LSS... sigh).

Photobucket

hope you guys will join in the fun and don't forget to stop by the Get Picky Blog for the full details and also more samples from the amazing ladies there.
thanks for stopping everyone!!!

catching up...

finally this weekend, I had the time to do a bit of catching up. I must have started on this layout about a month or two ago and was inspired by a sketch challenge on the studio calico blog then (and using the may lawn party kit - my favorite thus far).... well, it just kinda sat there till now...

Photobucket

the sketch provided was based on the grid concept and honestly, how can you go wrong with grids? I just love working with them as it allows you to do something a bit different in each square and yet, everything still fits together (or at least I like think so **wink**)...

Photobucket

also got out my Lawn Fawn stamps (alphas) for a bit of fun and putting those jenni bowlin stamp pads to some use. did you know that the lawn fawn alpha sets are cut in away that you are able to line up the individual alpha stamps without having to worry whether it's straight or not...

Photobucket

check that out.... in love with these alphas now....

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone and how's your wishing list for CHA-S 2011 coming along? as you can tell, my list has gotten (much) longer since the last post and just in awe with everything!!! and if you're interested in getting your hands on some lily bee and pink paislee goodies before anyone.. do check out their blogs for more details!!

just for fun...

i'm just loving June's kit from studio calico and couldn't stop creating with it. This is the third layout that I've created with the kit (sorry can't share the other two just yet) - and it think there'll be another one in the works soon... (and also did this for the current challenges happening at studio calico to celebrate their 4th anniversary. Happy Anniversary Studio Calico!!

Photobucket

i also got out my crafter's workshops template for some fun misting (and of course using studio calico white for this)... and addicted to these circles now. lol

Photobucket

and going for that "raw" chipboard look again with these american crafts alphas that were included in the kit. aren't they just fun and also the size is perfect (will definitely be buying another pack of these)!

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone and hope you guys had a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

New Class, Pink Paislee & CHA Wishlist

just wanted to let you know that I have a new class out this month over at Made With Love. we'll be created a mini album using a maya road album as a basis and also creating our own vintage inspired pages with distress ink. in addition, you guys will get to try out those must have distress stains and also have fun embellishing your mini ablum with some of the latest tim holtz dies cuts. don't forget to drop by the store to see the class sample in person and hope to see some of you guys there.

Photobucket
and instead of scrapping, I've just been drooling all over my computer as sneaks of the new CHA-S 2011 collections are popping up everywhere and I just want everything (more of daydream statement rather than an action, as my wallet is not going to be able to afford everything! product donations are welcome and yes, I'm begging...lol... what can I say? this seasons collections are just amazing from the collection color combination, to the vintage shabby designs, the soft color pallet to the fun and innovative embellishments). all the manufacturers have out done themselves and we are so spoiled for choice. I've been scrapping now for 3 years and with each and every season - the products/collections are more interested with twist and turns (in terms of design and product types) and there's always something that is a MUST try...

such as the NEW Mistables Collection from Pink Paislee! honestly everything is die for, from the mistable pattern papers (yes!!), to those gorgeous flowers and how could you not love that wooden frame. how you could not love anything that pink paislee does *wink*. (piradee's recommendation: get these asap because it has predicted that they will disappear in a blink)

Photobucket
Photobucket

and it doesn't stop there... have you noticed the wish list that I have started on the right hand side (it'll definitely be interesting to see how much I can stick to this list and not buy the whole wide world again...lol)

starting with the infamous American Crafts Amy Tangerine Collection. how you can not love her, not love her collection....

Photobucket

and then there is the new kid on the block Authenique by Margie & Co and it's just as amazing as her previous collections with Girl Paperie (which I'm still addicted to and just can't stop scrapping and hoarding it - what can I say, it's a collector item...lol). i'm taken by all the new collections, but if I have to chose just one (unless I win the lottery) it would have to be Uncommon with the mix of pink and grey. In LOVE...sigh...

Photobucket

then there's that one manfacturer that never fails to deliver... Echo Park!! and their Victoria Garden Collection is just rocking it with the gorgeous pastel colors and victorian elements... no further discussions needed. just buy it!

Photobucket

and in case you are wondering why I'm going to be super broke this season, well gotta blame My Minds Eye for their jaw dropping Lost & Found 2 Collection! sigh... fainted... (ok getting myself off the floor now)

Photobucket

and another manfacturer that has recently caught my attention is Glitz - all 3 of their collections are a stunner and definitely their Beautiful Dreamer Collection will be in my shopping basket (and I'm sure bits of their two other collections will sneak in too)! and the wonderful folks at Glitz are currently having a giveaway for this collection --> don't forget to drop by their blog for more details here.

Photobucket

and finally (but not the last) is Studio Calico. I've always been in love with their kits and their collections are no exception. the Autumn Press is absolutely gorgeous... everything from the soft color combination, to those butterfly chipboard pieces and yes MR HUEY! how can you not LOVE him (ps. don't tell my husband)!

Photobucket and now that I've drooled all over my computer... I really need to get back to scrapping. lol... thanks for stopping by everyone and what's on your wish list for this season?

and for those interested, i've updated my "goodies for sale" page with even more yummies.

Photobucket

and couldn't resist getting out my sizzix die for a little flower power too... (and just in case you are wondering what die this is... here for the details)

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone!!!

...also wanted to let those in Singapore know that I've updated the "goodies for sale" page with some additional items (more to be added tomorrow also) and that I'm having another garage sale at my apartment this coming Saturday July 9th starting @ 11am. please do drop me an email if you are interested in coming... more goodies at a steal!!!

having fun experimenting...

wow, is the month already over? June honestly has come and gone by in a flash and I can't even believe that its been over a week since I last posted on the blog.... needless to say, it also means I haven't been scrapping as much this month as I normally do... (unfortunately things have been too too busy at work that by the time I get back, I'm exhausted beyond to do much of anything else...).

But when I do get a chance... I'm in the mood to experiment and explore... like this layout that I created for this month's GET PICKY Challenge #9; working on a horizontal 8.5x11" layout is a challenge of its own. And speaking of Get Picky - the wonderful ladies there have asked me to join their team for the next 3 months. I'm truly honored and thrilled and thank you so much Tanya and Nikki for this opportunity!

For this month challenge - it's an inspiration challenge whereby we would love to see how this "Sex and the City 2" movie poster has inspired you... (don't forget to check here for more details & the yummy prizes that they have in store - you don't want to miss this and the winner will be randomly drawn from the entries)

Photobucket

And for my take on the challenge, I drew on the colors (brown, yellow & turquoise - although my turquoise ended up more on the greener side, oops)...

Photobucket

and here are a few more close up pictures... using my new sizzix flower die and some 7Gypsies tissue paper to create the center part of the flower...

Photobucket

Photobucket

also added a bit of stamping details.... from technique tuesday!

Photobucket

and I still can't get over the gorgeous butterfly die cuts from Pink Paislee butterfly garden collection - in love with this collection and honestly can't get enough of it!!

Photobucket

A big thanks everyone for stopping by and I do promise to post more!

more on luang prabang...

Hi everyone,

A quick post to share my latest Lily Bee layout that is currently up today on the Lily Bee Blog (I hope you guys will stop by to share some love there and also for the other amazing ladies - have you seen the previous post there, where some of the ladies had asked their kids to help out. So much talent there!)

Photobucket

for this layout, I had fun with all the cardstock stickers from the Happily Lost collection - and the sayings are perfect for travel theme. also got out my maya road for a tad bit of misting.... and stamping tooo!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And for those in Singapore, just wanted to let you know that my last class for the mini ablum class is this weekend and there's still some spots left if you are interested. We'll be making the album from scratch and also having tons of fun with the ephemera pack from Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection - tons of gorgeous goodies included!

having fun with challenges...

boy has it been one busy weekend! started my first of series of exercise class on friday evening (yes, finally getting my butt in gear and signed up for a bunch of exercise class - hoping that these will help me get back into shape and also lose {alot} of weigh along the way!)... and then there was the mini album class on saturday and then spent the sunday cleaning up and finishing off some projects.

which then brings me to this layout that I had wanted to share earlier in the week... I had created this for the Stamping Challenge that I'm hosting over at MWL till June 26th and created based on the color challenge provided by Crate Paper (which I missed the cut off date...lol).

Photobucket

using again one of the pictures that we took while Tanya was here visiting Singapore with her family. In this one, the three of us (Pearl, Tanya and me) had met up for some lunch nearby my office then.

Photobucket

and once again...using up my ever growing stash of these gorgeous prima blooms. I just can't seem to stop by them (maybe its the 50% discount that's driving me crazy... lol). also have you seen that sunburst stamp from jenni bowlin? I'm in love!

Photobucket

and that challenge that I'm host at MWL this month is super simple... all you have to do is to include stamping somewhere... anywhere... on your layout; for more details --> click here. remember that you have until midnight June 26th to upload your layout onto the MWL Challenge Gallery to be eligible to win a $20 voucher!! (winner will be randomly selected and challenge is only open to those in singapore)

Photobucket

thanks again for stopping by everyone and hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!!

Lucky Me

back with another layout to share.... using the yummy October Afternoon 5&Dime collection. how can you not love this collection with the yummy sweet colors and those vintage imagines... **sign**

I created this layout based on a sketch provided on the October Afternoon blog and also as my assignment for Made With Love this week (hence the piles and piles of yummy you see here). Also put my sewing machine to good use too... yeap, trying to make sure that the dust stays off this time around and counting 3 weeks so far...lol

Photobucket

also just in case you are curious of the reason behind the title of this layout "Lucky Me" ... well the story goes something like this... connecting the island to the main land there are series of bridges and this one is the famous bamboo bridge that is available during the dry season. when its the raining season, the bridge is not available as the water currents are too strong in area. so as we cross the bridge to get to the resturant on the other side... we were wondering how the people managed to remove the bamboo so that it can be used to create the bridge again, in the next season. and i think about 15 mins after we crossed the bridge, we got the answer... there was this thundering sound and then... there goes the bridge... literally! yeap, lucky us!
