Lost & Found

sharing a layout that I created for my assignment over at Made With Love - using the gorgeous new Lost & Found 2 collection (Sunshine) from My Minds Eye. This is by far my favorite collection in their series - loving the gorgeous shade of yellowish gold and the touch of teal here and there in their papers and embellishments.

Photobucket

I opted to keep the design of the layout simple, as to draw the attention to the patterns/images on the pattern papers instead (ie the right side of the layout). I just adore the mix of images and also the gorgeous touches of glitter here and there (and thank goodness that this time around - some of the glitter remains on the paper...lol) and as you can tell... nope, I'm not over banners just yet :)

Photobucket

and still in awe with all the temples at Wat Angkor - the amazing structures and details - and one can only wonder what it was like back then when the temples were in working condition. I wonder if the walls were covered in gold and decorated with gems like the Grand Palace Temples in Bangkok... guess one can only wonder... but what was once lost is now found and for all to enjoy!

thanks for stopping by everyone and have you gotten your dose of MME Lost & Found collection yet?

CK Budget Friendly Magazine Giveaway!

Hi Everyone! I'm back to share a fun giveaway from Creating Keepsakes Magazine & it's their latest speical Issue - Budget Friendly Scrapbooking.

Photobucket

The magazine is filled with fun ideas on how to scrap smartly and use the most of the products that we have. A definite issue that you must have!

And below is one of the layouts that I have published where the main focus is on the pattern papers themselves. Here I used the stationery collection from Lily Bee - and making the most of both sides of the pattern papers to create the design for my layout. I started by cutting some squares from the various pattern papers and then cutting them in half to get the triangles. Them on the back side of the same pattern papers, I punched out some circles to be used to embellish the page.

Photobucket

And if you want to see more sneaks of the issue --> click here!
And here's a link to the issue in the store --> click here!

And the wonderful ladies at CK again have given me an issue to giveaway to one of my blog readers. Therefore for those interested, don't forget to leave a message on this blog post by midnight Friday Sept 2nd; and would love it if you could share what you favorite collection is from the CHA-Summer 2011. Thanks again everyone for stopping by and will be randomly selecting a winner over the weekend!

Lily Bee Memorandum

sharing another layout that I had created for the lily bee blog post the other day and using their newest collection - Memorandum. I just adore the mix of colors and fun design in this collection (and yes there's more ledger pattern paper colors too). when I first heard the collection name - the first thing that I thought about was a memo pad and also since I've started pinning things... well, why not create my own little booklet of inspirations or in this case.... quotes.

Photobucket

its just amazing what you can find on pintrest...

Photobucket

and in creating my little flip book - I first started out by cutting the rectangle pages, then used a border punch to create that look and feel that I tore the pages from a notebook and then sown all the pages together..

Photobucket

and more quotes...

Photobucket

and still more quotes..

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by and hope you like this new collection from Lily Bee as much as I do!! a definite must have for all Lily Bee Lovers :)

Relax Unwind Enjoy w/ Pink Paislee Nantucket

and sharing my layout that I created for the Pink Paislee blog yesterday. the assignment was a product focus on the mistable fuzzy stickers! and boy are these fuzzy cute!

Photobucket

For my layout, I opted to mist the various flower stickers - using the studio calico "piglet" color. To get the different tone of colors on the stickers, I used a paper nakin to absorbed some of the mist on the smaller pieces...

Photobucket

And (as you can see) I really do love all the bits and pieces that are in the Nantucket collection; from the ephemera pack, chipboard tiles to the embossed trading cards. LOVE. and the colors in this collection are gorgeous... all my favorites at the moment rolled together into one collection... teal, yellow and coral.

Photobucket

Photobucket

and do stop by the Pink Paislee blog for more inspirations with these new collection :) & a big thanks again everyone for stopping by!

Photobucket

some new projects to share...

hello? hello? hello? is anyone still there?

I know... I've been a bit quite here lately, but there's been a lot happening in the background. First off would like to share with you guys one of my layouts that is posted on the Lily Bee Blog today...

Photobucket

I created this one using a mix of goodies from the Happily Lost, This & That, Stationery and Lovely collections... Yes - it's definitely a mix alright, but really do love that any and all the Lily Bee collections can easily be combined together....

Photobucket

And yes, I'm still in love with these ABC stickers from the various Lily Bee collections - they really are the perfect size for about any project!

Photobucket

I also have another project up on the Lily Bee Blog - but photobucket has just given out on me and isn't letting me upload any pictures (the select file button has disappeared!); but hopefully this will resolve itself soon and can't wait to share that layout here too!! ps. if you are interested in seeing what I've created with the new Lily Bee CHA -Summer 2011 collection, do head on over here!

And also I have another project up on the Pink Paislee Blog today too! Hope you guys stop by there also for some Pink Paislee inspirations.

And (to keep you hopping abit)... do head on over here to check out the newest Sketch Blog in town - My Creative Sketches - and I also have the amazing honor of guesting for them this month. I hope you guys will join in on the fun and do check out the amazing layouts by their design team and the yummy prizes.

And the last bit of news (and the reason that I've been super busy the past few days) is... I'll be getting on the plane tomorrow for Brussels. Yeap. It's vacation time. We'll be gone for a week, although we were hoping for 2 weeks but looks as thou both of us couldn't get approval from our work. Speaking of which... I'll probably be working every now and then cause I wasn't able to clear out everything before hand (that is unless a miracle happens at work tomorrow). Highly unlikely.

And now off to do abit of packing.

Pink Paislee Nantucket & Autumn Escape NZ

Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that I have a new layout up on the pink paislee blog using the gorgeous (seriously gorgeous) Nantucket Collection. This time around the assignment is to experiment with mix media... and so with my mists and paint in hand.... this is what I ended up with...

Photobucket

and using the mistable fabric flower and with a few different mist colors... don't you just love this? the fabric on these flowers are really good - they absorb the colors really well and still have that soft feel once the ink drys.

Photobucket

and for these details on the pattern paper... I got my white paint out for some fun with the misting mask from the mistable collection. I really do recommend this mask - the design is gorgeous and definitely must have for anyone's stash!!

Photobucket

please do stop by the pink paislee blog post for more behind the scene details on how I created this layout...

Photobucket

and lastly... these are my favorite embellishment of this season - these chipboard tiles are super fun with work with - the perfect size, shapes and that glossy finish (I know I keep saying it) but they are really great finishing touches.

Photobucket

and there is one more UNBELIEVABLE news that I've been wanting to share for awhile now... ok, deep breath....

a while ago I received an email from Nic Howard (I know - wow) saying something about something about something. I think I read the email about 10 times (in print too), before the words started to sink in and also by then, recovered a bit from the shock.... and I am so honored to be one of the teachers at the Autumn Escape 2012 in New Zealand!!!

Photobucket

For more details on the Autumn Escape --> here
Thanks so much Nic and Lucy for this amazing opportunity and can't wait to meet everyone there.... we have tons of fun in store for you guys. :)

Also a big thanks to everyone for stopping by and all the sweet comments, I'm so thrilled to be on the AC team again and truly thanking my lucky stars. Thanks guys, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all the support from you...

Get Picky Challenge #11 & Pink Paislee Nantucket

Hi guys, the latest Get Picky Sketch Challenge is up and for this challenge I used the gorgeous Nantucket collection from Pink Paislee. From the collection, I selected the turquoise and golden yellow color as the main focus for the layout.... and also using the new mask from the Pink Paislee Mistable collection for some misting details (with studio calico white mist).

Photobucket

and also finally using up these prima flowers that I've been hoarding forever - the colors were a perfect match!

Photobucket

and one of my most favorite embellishment from the Nantucket collection are these hexagon chipboard pieces... honesty you really need to get at least two of these, cause they are super addictive and super fun to use (just check out the ideas on the pink paislee blog).

Photobucket

and more details on the mask used (from the Mistable collection).

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone and hope you guys will play along with us over at Get Picky. also in case you haven't heard - they're having a DT Call at the moment (more details here). what are you waiting for? **wink**

CK - 100 photos in ONE night!!

hi guys, sharing one of the my assignments in the Creating Keepsake September 2011 issue - and yes, it's to scrap a 100 photos in one night! I know - yeah right! right? that's what I thought! But once I calmed down - OK, it is do able, especially just having attended my first ever CHA show and taken over a hundred pictures (would also like to thank Linda Barber and Kim Watson for their help in providing even more pictures - you guys are the best!)

so grabbing one collection to work with - american crafts campy trail, a handful of jillibean soup corrugated shapes, october afternoon buttons and stacks of rub-ons from studio calico (these little birds are just too too cute)... I set off to work on my layouts using the We R Memory Keepers page protectors as the basis.

Photobucket

and in a second (well ok - maybe after a few minutes), I had my first page... filled with all the new CHA-W 2011 goodies and the amazing people that I had the chance and pleasure of meeting. it's absolutely wonderful to be able to meet everyone in person and was taken by all the sweetness and kindness of EVERYONE. to be honest, I didn't know what to expect and was so nervous meeting everyone (that I was either standing there looking super stupid and speechless or couldn't stop taking cause I was so happy to meet them in person!)

Photobucket

in general I kept the layout/design as simple as possible and filled up the smaller photo sleeves with either pictures or notes, and only creating a mini page design in the center. so most of my pictured were printed in wallet size which I then trimmed to 3x3 (size of the smaller selves) and a few of then were 4x6. I also prepared some 3x3 cardstock pieces where the text is first printed on vellum and then it glue on + one adorable rub-on bird.

Photobucket

as I'm writing this... I honestly don't know how to say or what to say... but it really is an honor to meet everyone there and everyone was so kind and wonderful. speechless still. and the CK editors were amazing in person and the CK dream team - yeap, its official - we are a crazy bunch of scrappers (and drivers *wink*)! love you all!

Photobucket

and still laughing at myself, but when you are as crazy as me... you'll do about anything to take a picture with everyone... **wink** thanks guys for taking a picture with me!

second attempt

I'll be honest, I don't always like everything that I create. At the time it "looked" ok, but then after a while or once the pictures are taken, something is off.... Most of the time, that "feeling" / "look" can easily be fixed by adding a bit more embellishment or changing the colors of some of the items used... but then there are times, when it really feels "off".... and yesterday was one of those times.

So ... I redid my National Day layout. This time around I went with a 11x8.5 layout and also made sure that the embellishments flows from right to left - in line with the water in the photo.

Photobucket

most of the items I was able to salvage from the previous layout (the wonders of removable adhesive).... but lost my sub-title. Initially I was thinking of additional journaling on the bottom of the photo (before the punched scallop border), but then realized that I already had the journaling tag... ooops.

Photobucket

And honestly (I know again) - I just love love love these ABC stickers from Lily Bee. I can't wait to see the new ones/colors... (the papers are absolutely gorgeous in person)!

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone, and just curious - do you have days like me? or is it just me? ;)

ps. I still do like my first layout but felt that the flow of the embellishment/page was contradicting to the flow in the picture - if that makes any sense at all? for me - when I look at the first layout I'm first drawn to the clusters of elements on the bottom and then work my way up to the top of the page. However, when I look at the picture - it goes from right to left... uhmmmmmm

Happy National Day Singapore!

I know I say it too often, but really - it doesn't feel as thou it has been 3 years since I relocated to Singapore for work. That it has been 3 years since I discovered Made With Love and became addicted to scrapbooking. And never in my wildest dreams, would I have thought that my work would bring me here... to where I am today...

Photobucket

I created this layout based on the current color challenge from Crate Paper - and using bits and pieces of various crate paper collections to layer everything together...

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

And as you can tell, I'm totally in love with these Lily Bee Alphabet stickers - they are super fun to use and just the right size... mixing up the alphas here...

Photobucket

Sorry for the short post, but off to explore Singapore!
Hope you guys have a very happy happy national day!

... and don't forget about the National Day Contest that we are currently having over at Made With Love this month... more details HERE. I hope you guys join in on the fun and can't wait to see all your creations!!
