A HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011 everyone!!!
I still can't believe that another year has gone by... and honestly I still thought that I had some more time before the year came to an end. The other day I was having lunch with some scrappy friends and was mentioning how next week for new years, hubby and I were planning to grab some dinner and watch the fireworks. The catch was... that lunch was this past Thursday and new years was on Friday... oops. Needless to say, I kinda lost track to time.

And looking back this past year...
- visited 7 cities/countries (australia, bali, barcelona, belgium, hanoi, london and malacca); not counting Bangkok
- took a 3 month break from work
- had a chance to work with another client/project for a short period of time
- taught my first scrapbooking class (both locally and internationally)
- had the opportunity to guest design / featured with 10 sponsors
- amazing opportunity to work with 3 new design teams (lily bee, creating keepsake and pink paislee) - beyond my dreams
- and bought 8 new bags (something that I really need to cut down for the next year)
And for the coming year, well not really sure just yet... but looking forward to
- enjoying my work (somehow)
- reaching a happy weight
- visiting another 7 countries
- visiting sis in chicago (and attending CHA W 2011 in LA along the way)
- and...
And while I continue to work out my resolutions for the new year, I thought it would be great to start off the year with a giveaway!! The piles of goodies shown below will be split evenly between TWO lucky scrappers!! Piradee, Happy New Year! Our celebration was spent with lots of friends. We had fireworks, food, games, and snow! At one point the kids were in their swimsuits (just jumped out of the hot tub) having a snowball fight! So much fun! Thanks for the generous giveaway! -Alisa

ReplyDeleteI had to work on New Years Eve, but when I got home there was still time to open a bottle and celebrate with my parents in law and my parents on the phone.

My NYE celebration was derailed by a trip to labor and delivery triage. We thought we were going to have a New Years baby... but I was discharged at 2 am and told to labor at home... so I'm still at home.. laboring away...

I hope it will be as great for you as 2010 was:) My new year was fun: we just celebrated it at home with the five of us watching a Dutch TV show, which was really amazing. Unfortunately the neighbours were all gone to celebrate New Year's Eve at their friends', but we had fun celebrating it just with the family though.

ReplyDeleteblessed new yr! i had a great start to the year, went for a steamboat dinner on the eve of new yr then i had my very first experience of catching the fireworks from the expressway! it was so amazing to see the cars stopping on the left side of ecp and we had an awesome spot to watch. initially thought we cldn't make it but we did! then the night ended off with some cards playing at my friend's hostel in NUS, all 10 of us (: its definitely a great start to 2011! have another wonderful scrappy yr piradee, tks for the chance to win!

ReplyDeletei was too lazy to cook so my husband and i checked in a hotel.we watched the fireworks from our room at midnight. it was pretty simple but special.happy new year to you too and thank you for the amazing giveaway.:)

i spent new years with family and friends here in newcastle australia, listening to a fab local band play down by the lake, then watched the family friendly timed fireworks at 10pm.. off home to put my kidlet to bed, then hubby and i watched the sydney fireworks on the telly, then music vdos, then finally crashed.

Blessed New Year Piradee! We were pleased as punch to be back from Australia to celebrate the new year with family, both in Singapore and Malaysia. The grandparents were estatic to spend time with their grand daughter! Thanks for the chance to win the goodies! Being away from my stash is making me real sad and these will certainly help me for the nect few months while I'm back in the country!

Wow! You have been busy in 2010! We stayed at home and had a real Michael Jackson Wii party. 8 controllers going on at one time and then when 12:00am hit we yelled Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteIt's a tradition in our clan to celebrate New Year of having a reunion with all my relatives, bonding moments, games, gift giving, singing, dancing and lots of fun.
My New Years was spent trying to get our baby to sleep...I was bounce walking him around the living room while we waited for the ball to drop on TV...he dozed off...a whispered "happy New Year!" and a kiss...then WAAAAH! The noise outside woke him back up. lol We live across the street from the fairgrounds, between the neighbors and the fireworks, we were back at square one getting to sleep. lol

ReplyDeleteHappy new year, Piradee! The last day of 2010 was as eventful as the rest of the year was for us... Just as we were preparing to go home after a friend's house party, my daughter had really bad abdominal pains and we had to take her to the doctor that night. Thankfully, it wasn't too late yet - just before 10 pm - so we managed to find a clinic near our place that was still open.

ReplyDeleteI rang in the New Year at home alone with my sweet hubby. Our kids are all grown now and on their own (well, the *baby* is 19 and still 'living' at home, but he's always gone with friends....ahhh to be young and always on the go!). So, we are back to finding the joy of quality alone time together! :) Not to mention that last year was kind of wild and crazy, so we just wanted to bring the new year in with peace and tranquility, hopefully to set the tone for the whole year! :)

The actual stroke of midnight was quiet for me but the day before was great. Dana got married (remember her? My friend who you met?) and then the next day we had friends over.

ReplyDeleteNY's was spent with home-cooked Shepherd's Pie and champagne at home. :) A quiet nite, followed by fireworks outside the windows, yea kinda lucky we were able to catch a very distant view of the pretty thing. New Year resolution, travel, explore and discover more countries! Have a great 2011, hope to see u soon.
Mine was pretty plain.. no count down, but managed to have a glimpse of the firework just happened in our neighborhood.

ReplyDeleteJust got back from Philippines where we celebrated Christmas and New Year! Our tradition there is light up fireworks and sparklers! And for the kids, we urge them to jump at the strike of 12mn hehehe to make them taller!!! hahaha

Hello Piradee and Happy New Year! I spent the holidays in the Philippines with family and on New Year's Eve, we went outside the house to view the fireworks display from neighbors (we have small kids at home hence no firecrackers allowed), followed by a long drawn midnight supper (Media Noche) that lasted until 2 am!

Congrats on all your new achievments! Our New Year's celebration was very quiet, We went out to diner w/ our kids & then took them to see some Christmas decorations downtown. We all stayed up til midnight to watch the ball drop in NYC on t.v.! Life w/ kids.....but we love it!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteSame as the past years, I celebrated it with my mom this year, as a single mom, I know how hard it would be to raise up a naughty girl like me...I wish I could celebrate all the festival with her to keep her accompanied.
Chatting with her about my childwood and what are we going to do next year is a well enough celebration for both of us!
Happy New Year! We had a little gathering at my in-laws', with some home-cooked dish by me and one of my sis-in-law. Simple and cozy, that's how I like it.
