some random things....

just some random things that I still need to do before the end of the week...

• attend a meeting in Hong Kong
• fly back home for a weekend in Bangkok
• enjoy a glass or two of caipirinha at the Chatujak Market
• drive my car!!! (I so miss not having a car in Singapore)
• pig out at the best ever seafood restaurant near by the house (in BKK)
• shopping!!! (shopping in Bangkok is the best ever)
• find a way to get to MWL to get those gorgeous Pink Paislee collections - I want everything!!!

and oh yes, somewhere in between all that... I need to finish my new class sample before Friday! (considering that today is already Thursday it doesn't look like its going to happen); but I do have a sneak for those interested.... (hope to see some of you there!)

and this is just one of the two items that you'll be creating in the class.... look out for more details in MWL newsletter!

as for now, I better get some sleep as tomorrow is going to be a long day!

oh, yes and one more thing.... still holding my breath that I might be lucky; its a one in a million chance, but just maybe maybe maybe they might look my way..... (but then again, maybe not) lol.

and also sharing a little something that I just finished... finally getting out my studio calico kit - this one is from the september kit - back 40 (I've been dying to cut into these since I got them earlier in the week). I really like the mix of goodies that amazing people at SC put together - the perfect mix of modern and vintage goodies and of course their stamps and exclusive pattern papers are a must!



the pictures were taken during our trip to australia when we visited the wilson promontory national park. we were walking in one of the areas that was burnt a few years back and its just amazing, to see how the park is slowly recovering and new life everywhere...

and yes, I'll still addicted to these butterflies... and the tone on tone technique.

CCG Challenge #161

hi everyone, the latest color combo challenge is up and its gorgeous!!! I just love the mix of colors that Janet has selected (as always, except for the purple one Janet - that was really challenging).



and here's my take on it... and also used a sketch that Julie Bonner has created for YourScrapbookStash.



currently I'm still addicted to the tone on tone technique and also can't stop using these butterflies. for the larger one, I used one of the GCD chipboard to trace the shape and the smaller one is using a punch from Martha Stewart.

one of those days...

yes, it's been one those days that never seem to end; but at the same time you don't want it to end coz what's waiting afterwards isn't all that green (who ever said that the grass is greener on the other side). the month thus far has been pretty much like this... all grayish; reason being is that this month we got our performance results for last year and like always... @#($*! sometimes, I wonder why I continue to do what I do - something that I don't seem to enjoy as much as I use to... (and this is NOT about scrapbooking - I really need to let go of some steam) lol .

but on the scrapping front, here's a simple layout that I did earlier this month to brighten the day and isn't that orange color (from fancy pants) just mesmerizing and refreshing. I really love the designs of these papers and the distress look that they have - just perfect.

also I recently discovered that you can paint on those super cute maya road star pins (on the backside) and vola, just check out difference it adds to it all. also using some my new goodies from maya road (doily sheer & ribbon)! love them!!!

tags tags and more tags (with New Lily Bee)

ok, its offical. I'm now addicted to making these tags and also can't stop making the flowers too (my attempt at a tutorial for the flower is up on the Lily Bee Blog - but looks as thou I still have a long way to go before making a decent step by step instruction). Since the last round, I've gone out and bought a total of 10 different colors of crepe papers and have already started on my 3rd batch!

also I just got my box of the new Lily Bee goodies (and some Maya Road too).... and these new collections are even more gorgeous than the previous ones!!! and isn't that banner pattern paper from the Catching Fall Collection just a MUST have!!! this collection is also just perfect for a few "thank you" tags that I'll be sending out to some special folks!!





and I also have ONE extra tag for anyone interested - just leave me a comment on this post and if there's more than one person, I'll randomly select a name this Saturday.

finally.... restoration!!!

yes, I finally had the chance to play with the restoration collection from crate paper and love it!! although I have to admit, at first the papers weren't easy to use (and thank god for removable adhesive). But finally I think I got it to look the way I had hoped to...



also threw in the new maya road doilie sheers and of course, some crepe paper too...



also as I was walking down the portobello road, I found these!! yes, I finally understand what those printer trays are....lol



and how could you not love all those designs from this collection - the playing cards are so so so adorable!!! a calling out to layer layer and layer...

and guess what I saw on 2peas earlier today (Sept 21, 2010) - thanks everyone!!

summer in barcelona

...was a blast! the wedding was amazing with a stunning view of the la pedrera and abit of the sagrada familia and the weather was just perfect. It wasn't tooo hot and every now and then there was a refreshing breeze flowing through. our short stay in barcelona was just perfect too - for the first time ever we weren't trying to see everything or visit the top 10 must see (partially because this wasn't the first time that we were there) and actually had time to just hang around and do nothing (with a glass of wine and a gorgeous view).

there was however one place that I wanted to visit again - parc guell - and would do it again and again. I just can't get over the amazing architecture and those houses are so adorable and the lovely tiles and how they just sparkle in the sunlight....



and here's alittle something that I created to capture that moment... and yes, it was one really sunny day too! I wanted to do something simple for this layout, but still couldn't resist cutting out those sun designs from the fancy pants papers...



and I also tried to kept the colors constrained on the layout - reds on reds, yellow on yellow. Initially when I did this, I wasn't sure if the objects would show up, but really like the final outcome whereby you can add/layer items but still have an overall simple look.... (or so I think)

I'm Back (again)!!!

although I have to admit that I didn't really go anywhere this time, other than silently recovering from my vacation (really needed the vacation after the vacation). for the past week, I've been playing catch up and dealing with the over powering jet lag. I remember the days when it only took a day to re-adjust myself - well those days are long gone, this time around it has taken me over a week. I hate to admit it, but I think I'm getting older.

but on the plus side... at least I get to stay up late and scrap to my heart desire (well kind off - still haven't gotten around to working it the restoration collection yet), but I do have some layouts to share...

first up is this layout that I started before leaving for barcelona... finishing off the remaining bits and pieces of lily bee as I make room for all the new goodies to come. I know the wonderful ladies in the states have already received theirs, so I'm keeping my fingers cross that I'll get to play with them really soooooon.



the pictures are a bit old - but this amazing structure always awe me everytime I look at it. isn't it something that this temple has with stood the test of time and remains here for us to see and enjoy. although, it is a shame that the greedy nature of humans have managed to destory the perfect picture - missing buddha statues or heads.



and at the moment, love mixing different textures in my layout - from the doilie to the burlap - to give the pages a different look and feel.

also finally, I get the chance to share (in full) the tags that I had made for the swap that we had yesterday.... I just adore these flowers that were made using crepe paper and yes, you soon will be seeing these everywhere on my blog - just went out grab 8 more colors to experiment with. and thank you ladies for all the amazing tags that I got back from the swap, its super fun to just see everyone's creations and also a chance to scrap with you guys (although it was for a super short time only)...



also is anyone having problems with photobucket? sometimes I am able to open their site and somethings the web reports that the site can't be found. something similar also happens on my blog, at times I'm able to display the pictures and sometimes not....its driving me crazy. any help would be great.

i'm back!!!!!

and then again, given the pile of work that is waiting for me.... uhmmm maybe not! but yeap, finally made it back from a crazy weekend in barcelona (went for a friend's wedding) and then a week long of events in belgium (with the inlaws). It was a truly crazy fun week... lots of champagne and meeting new people, oh yes, shopping too! (the non-scrappy stuff).

and now, its back to the daily routine of things (that is until the next holiday or business trip - which ever comes first). also its great to be back... by the time the week was over, I was having scrapping withdrawal syndrome. would you believe, I was dreaming last night that I was rolling around in the crate paper restoration collection and then even my bed sheets were in the same pattern (yes if you haven't guess, I've been dying to find the time to scrap those gorgeous papers). but looks as thou, its going to have to wait as I have a few major datelines to meet for work and it doesn't look as thou I will be able to squeeze much in until the weekend (wonder what I'll be dreaming off tonight).

anyway, before disappearing again... here's a little peak at what I was working on before my trip... a little something for a friendship swap that we are having... (although mine are abit off spec... ooops)....
