Tough But Fun!!!

  • I have to admit that when i first saw the items in the kit - i was uhmmmm.... what do i do with these (paper bags) and then what are these (tim holtz grunge board). But after a few hours of starring at the items.... eureka!!! mini album + layout. If you have noticed, i love love love layouts and it's pretty much because i can put them away in my vast collection of making memories albums for easy viewing... and also less storage place is required (all my spacing has already been taken over with my scrapping supplies - how could i resist all the good deals out there).
  • So here's my attempt at a combo!!! the biggest challenge for me on this project was to make sure that everything goes together, as the pages are flipped down; please do stop by @ MWL if you have a chance - to flip through the pages...

So happy i found those 7 gypsies arrow book turners - that really holds all the pages up.

I wanted to those prima flowers to have a more vintage look - so i first sprayed it with glimmer mist (khaki) and then inked the sides with distress ink (brushed corduroy).

Wasn't quite sure what to do with the tim holtz grunge board - but the texture on these chipboards are unbelievable!! and also the sturdiness, they definitely don't tear easily. I had first die cut these with my quickutz die through the sizzix machine (just the love the versatility of this machine) and then cut around the outline made by the die (the die was too shallow to cut through the chipboard but gave the perfect impression that i needed).

A total of three 7 gypsies paper bags were use and each have their own tags, that are filled with pictures or to be later journaled (oops... ran out of time for all the journaling that I had initially planned).

Once again - i just can't get enough of this tim holtz stamp - dreams dreams dreams...

If you do give this a try - don't forget to check on direction your pictures, as I almost pasted the bottom picture upside down - since the pages open downwards.

Thanks again for looking!!! If interested - the layout is @ MWL

  4. WOW... love this project. I wouldn't have known what to do with this stuff either and this is beautiful. I am inspired to pull out my 7 gypsies and start using it. I like their look just not good at the vintage thing yet. I just found your blog and you have some amazing pages.
