another year...

can't believe how fast the month has flown by... we're already at the end of march and (ekkk) I'm another year older (yes, I haven't quite gotten over that one just yet). but honestly, I can't get over how times flies by, it just seems to disappear - one moment you're hanging out with buddies in high school, going crazy at all the parties in university (and yeap, having attended UM - I still can't get over the annual **** run) and somewhere along the timeline, I started working and got married! (ooops - having some reality issues at the moment). lol

but back to the scrappy front... have you heard about the sketch challenge happening at Lily Bee (details here) - isn't the sketch just amazing!!!! and the best part of it all, is that the winner will get the entire collection of Picket Fence including the alphabet stickers!! hope you guys have a chance to play along - you only need to use atleast one lily bee product (and it doesn't have to be from the latest collection). The challenge is open till Tuesday April 5th.

and on another note - both the Lily Bee and Pink Paislee Collections have arrived here in Singapore!! Have you seen all the amazing goodies?? I honestly recommend the ALL the Lily Bee and the Pink Paislee collections - my faves are Butterfly Garden, Daily Junque, Soiree and Hometown!!!

and here's alittle something I recently created to capture this special month -{cheers to another year} using the latest collections from Sassafras (and also mixing in some of their older collections).

guesting for creative scrappers & winners!!!

Hi Everyone - I'm back to share a layout that I recently created as a guest designer for Creative Scrappers, based on this sketch provided Kristine and done by none other than the super talented Aphra Bolyer .....

Photobucket

And here's my take on the sketch, using the new My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose Collection (this has got to be one of my all time favorites for CHA-W 2011; of course that's in addition to all gorgeous pink paislee and lily bee collections) **wink**

Photobucket

and here are some details of the layout (although not too much as I wanted a clean look and feel)... the gorgeous chipboard elements and still in love with those metal flowers from making memories (have you seen the new ones that they have in silver and cream).

Photobucket

and of course, banners - I'm so not over these yet and are still a must have on my layouts...lol

Photobucket

one of my favorite items in this collection are these metal charms - they just super cute and love the different feel that they add to the layout (especially when you shake it around and thankfully I'm using the super strong adhesives from american crafts & beacon, so everything stays on)..lol

Photobucket

And a very big thank you Kristine for this opportunity to guest design for you guys this week and hope everyone plays along this this sketch.

And also a big thanks to everyone who left a comment on my previous birthday post and here are the lucky winners of all the goodies (used the random generator for all the lucky numbers - winners are listed in the sequence the numbers were generated)....

and hopefully the following ladies might like one too...

and what's next...

now that i'm a year old, I wonder if I'll be any wiser??? any smarter??? any happier??? any richer??? any anything??? lol...

atleast one thing I know for sure, was that as soon as the Crate Paper collections arrived at my LSS - I was there in a split second holding onto the portrait collection (was also tempted to get the emma shoppe collection too but trying really super hard to stay on budget this year). and sticking to my resolution of scrapping everything that I buy... vola!! a little something to capture this moment in time... yes, I'm older! lol

Photobucket

and have you seen the new chipboard alphabets from Jillibean Soup? ohhhh another must have item (all 4 of their sets too)!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

and yes, how could I not add some studio calico white to this... its just screaming for it. also the new studio calico mr. huey colors have arrived here in singapore - oh how I'm itching to buy them all... help!!! (SOS Studio Calico)

Photobucket

Also a big big thanks to the wonderful ladies at Crate Paper for featuring this layout on their blog!!! Super honored!!! and LOVE all the new collections.

Thanks again everyone for stopping by and the wonderful comments and support - it's honestly because of you guys that gives me inspiratios to scrap!!! couldn't resist...

i've got another layout to share... I know, again right? for some reason I haven't been able to stop scrapping these couple of weeks - going in over drive here. not sure if its because of all the new arrivals that are landing here in singapore or the fact that I have recently switched projects (at work) and maybe working in a new environment has triggered my creativity, but either way... I can't seem to stop creating!!!

a few weeks ago, my LSS (made with love) received the new Bo Bunny collection - Gabrielle - and I couldn't resist grabbing a few sheets, some embellishments and also those gorgeous butterfly chipboards (must have right??)

Photobucket

on top of that... finally put a dent in my prima stash (ok - maybe a small tiny dent); but isn't that mini flower just gorgeous too? prima truly amaze me with all the different flower designs that they come up with season after season and although I hardly use them anymore - I can't stop buying them. help!?!

Photobucket

also having some fun with the pattern papers here - creating additional textures on the layout and also being able to use both sides of the paper at the same time (love the constrast in colors and design).

Photobucket

Photobucket

and since I can't seem to stop myself, I also created this little card (to play along with the current challenge over at Bo Bunny - adding a little bling)... lol

Photobucket

Thanks again for stopping by everyone and also a bigger thanks for all the birthday wishes!!! And in case you haven't had a chance to leave a comment on my giveaway post HERE - there's still sometime left. **wink**

being me (with new lily bee) & giveaway

**giveaway is close and do check back for the winner details on 27th**

Hi Everyone!! Thanks so much for all the warm birthday wishes today!!! I am truly touched and honored (althought I can't believe that I'm another year older - if anyone asks, I'm forever 25...lol).

Today, I thought I would share this mini album I made for the Lily Bee blog post - focusing on the new and gorgeous Picket Fence collection (and stay tune for the giveaway details too). The colors in this collections are gorgeously soft with a vintage flair - so in love (and yes, there's purple)! In making this I opted to not ink all the chipboard pages (only the first with distress ink) and instead incoorporated the raw chipboard into the design by spraying a bit of mist here and there (and of course, its the Studio Calico - Calico White).

Also making use of my big shot (sizzix) for the die cut flower - layering the multiple pattern papers and also a bit of distress ink on the sides to highlight the edges...

The theme I had in mind when I created this... was to create a little something to remind myself to... Be True, Be Yourself.

supplies used include:
cardstock: american crafts; pattern paper: lily bee design; chipboard album: maya road; mist: studio calico; wooden alphas: making memories; chipboard shapes: lily bee design; heart pins: maya road; sticker alphas: october afternoon; flower die cut: sizzix

And now... I thought I would celebrate my birthday with everyone... with some small giveaways. First, I have this gorgeous collection set from My Mind's Eye (Lush 2 - Fuchsia) for one lucky person and yes - this is the entire collection set for this range; which includes 5 sheets of pattern papers, mini album and all the fun embellishments shown.

Photobucket

In addition, to the collection above I also have some additional items for 3 other lucky scrappers... and its for all the yummy goodies here... (please note that all the items shown will be divided among 3 people - as many of the items are duplicates).

Photobucket

If anyone anywhere is interested in the yummy goodies - please leave me a comment on this blog post by midnight Saturday March 26th and I'll draw the lucky winners on Sunday March 27th (a total of 4 names will be drawn).

Thanks so much again for stopping by and hoped that everyone had a wonderful weekend! (FYI - as much as I wish I was 25 forever, unforunately its the double 3s for me this time.)

at times...

Hi guys - here's a fun and simple layout that I put together and you can probably guess that I made this right after finishing the lily bee one... lol (I think this took me less than an hour to create - and its all due to the gorgeous papers that makes it to easy to scrap with). Yeap, one of my resolution this year is to scrap everything that I buy - so just got these paper last week and vola. Done! (and now the harder part - lets see how long I can keep this up).

Photobucket

Once again, using a picture of my lil sister for this (she's super sweet and is using my layouts to decorate her apartment in chicago - can't believe that she would prefer these over art work...lol thanks sis).

Photobucket

I just adore the bright colors and fun patterns in this collection - Salt Air - aren't those flowers just gorgeous (and love how they've layers the colors too). Also created this for the challenge happening over at Cosmo Cricket - creating your own flowers...

Photobucket

and here's another close up of the layering details...

Photobucket

This is the one thing that I so love about cosmo cricket papers - they are just so easy to work with and the patterns are just so inspiring. Remember this layout I created when I first started scrapping (I think I made this when I was a few months into scrapbooking then, and also for the Moxie Fab challenge - which by chance I happened to win too).

Photobucket

(please excuse the quality of the picture - was starting out back then and was still experimenting...lol. I really need to take another picture of this LO). And it's still one of my all time favorites!

Thanks again everyone for stopping by and also walking down memory lane with me.
