having fun experimenting...

wow, is the month already over? June honestly has come and gone by in a flash and I can't even believe that its been over a week since I last posted on the blog.... needless to say, it also means I haven't been scrapping as much this month as I normally do... (unfortunately things have been too too busy at work that by the time I get back, I'm exhausted beyond to do much of anything else...).

But when I do get a chance... I'm in the mood to experiment and explore... like this layout that I created for this month's GET PICKY Challenge #9; working on a horizontal 8.5x11" layout is a challenge of its own. And speaking of Get Picky - the wonderful ladies there have asked me to join their team for the next 3 months. I'm truly honored and thrilled and thank you so much Tanya and Nikki for this opportunity!

For this month challenge - it's an inspiration challenge whereby we would love to see how this "Sex and the City 2" movie poster has inspired you... (don't forget to check here for more details & the yummy prizes that they have in store - you don't want to miss this and the winner will be randomly drawn from the entries)

And for my take on the challenge, I drew on the colors (brown, yellow & turquoise - although my turquoise ended up more on the greener side, oops)...

Photobucket

and here are a few more close up pictures... using my new sizzix flower die and some 7Gypsies tissue paper to create the center part of the flower...

Photobucket

Photobucket

also added a bit of stamping details.... from technique tuesday!

Photobucket

and I still can't get over the gorgeous butterfly die cuts from Pink Paislee butterfly garden collection - in love with this collection and honestly can't get enough of it!!

A big thanks everyone for stopping by and I do promise to post more!

having fun with challenges...

boy has it been one busy weekend! started my first of series of exercise class on friday evening (yes, finally getting my butt in gear and signed up for a bunch of exercise class - hoping that these will help me get back into shape and also lose {alot} of weigh along the way!)... and then there was the mini album class on saturday and then spent the sunday cleaning up and finishing off some projects.

which then brings me to this layout that I had wanted to share earlier in the week... I had created this for the Stamping Challenge that I'm hosting over at MWL till June 26th and created based on the color challenge provided by Crate Paper (which I missed the cut off date...lol).

Photobucket

using again one of the pictures that we took while Tanya was here visiting Singapore with her family. In this one, the three of us (Pearl, Tanya and me) had met up for some lunch nearby my office then.

Photobucket

and once again...using up my ever growing stash of these gorgeous prima blooms. I just can't seem to stop by them (maybe its the 50% discount that's driving me crazy... lol). also have you seen that sunburst stamp from jenni bowlin? I'm in love!

Photobucket

and that challenge that I'm host at MWL this month is super simple... all you have to do is to include stamping somewhere... anywhere... on your layout; for more details --> click here. remember that you have until midnight June 26th to upload your layout onto the MWL Challenge Gallery to be eligible to win a $20 voucher!! (winner will be randomly selected and challenge is only open to those in singapore)

Photobucket

thanks again for stopping by everyone and hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!!

Lucky Me

back with another layout to share.... using the yummy October Afternoon 5&Dime collection. how can you not love this collection with the yummy sweet colors and those vintage imagines... **sign**

I created this layout based on a sketch provided on the October Afternoon blog and also as my assignment for Made With Love this week (hence the piles and piles of yummy you see here). Also put my sewing machine to good use too... yeap, trying to make sure that the dust stays off this time around and counting 3 weeks so far...lol

Photobucket

also just in case you are curious of the reason behind the title of this layout "Lucky Me" ... well the story goes something like this... connecting the island to the main land there are series of bridges and this one is the famous bamboo bridge that is available during the dry season. when its the raining season, the bridge is not available as the water currents are too strong in area. so as we cross the bridge to get to the resturant on the other side... we were wondering how the people managed to remove the bamboo so that it can be used to create the bridge again, in the next season. and i think about 15 mins after we crossed the bridge, we got the answer... there was this thundering sound and then... there goes the bridge... literally! yeap, lucky us!

mixing and matching {lily bee}

when it comes to mixing and matching papers from different collections.... i usually don't go there. yeap, if you've notice I usually scrap within a collection - that is except for those created with the studio calico kits and thus is the reason that I decided to subscribe... to challenge myself. so when my lily bee assignment came this month.. to the create a layout using all 3 of their new collections... i was like wah? (and a big thanks to the ladies there as they are super sweet and always ready to help... thanks *wink*)

but to be honest, I was really surprised with myself that I was able to pull if off...

Photobucket

and also discovered that an easy way to mix different pattern papers.... is to use bits of it here and there... and another item {from my stash} that I'm crazy about at the moment are these gorgeous fabric flowers from prima. at first I was like ... uhmm no thank you, but once I used the first one, I had to go back and buy all the colors...lol

Photobucket

and honestly, if you haven't used these tiny alpha stickers yet... you are definitely missing out on something! the bigger alpha stickers are from bella blvd.

Photobucket

also had quite a bit to write but didn't want to take away the white space balance and therefore opted for some hidden journaling... and of course, making go use of that bicycle stamp from the happily lost collection. {another must have item} lol

Photobucket

thanks again for stopping by everyone and hoping to have a few more "fun" layouts done soon. for some reason I haven't been scrapping as much as I used to and instead, just sitting around surfing or trying to re-sort everything...lol

yummy bits... {pink paislee}

hi there, sharing another layout that I created for the pink paislee blog post this past Thursday... and this time around its all about the gorgeous ephemeras from both the Daily Junque and Butterfly Garden collections.

Photobucket

I'm totally in love with these, especially the ones from the Butterfly Garden - loving those butterflies - and also there's just so many in a pack and I'm sure there's over 80 die cut pieces in that collection.

Photobucket

and another favorite item of mine from this season release are all the wood shapes... I just can't seem to get enough of them (for the arrow there - I used tattered angles glaze "waterfall") which matched perfectly with the pattern paper from the daily junque collection.

Photobucket

and more details....

Photobucket

and a big thanks for stopping by everyone and hoped you guys had a great weekend!! and for those in Singapore, do keep an eye out on the "goodies for sale" page as there will tons of new items looking for a new home (to be updated in the coming days). nite nite!

dreaming of summer

hi there.... sharing a layout that I created for the pink paislee blog post earlier this week, using the super fun hometown summer collection. I really do love the bright and fun colors in this collection and also missing the collage press design/style **wink**.

Photobucket

and yes finally putting the cricut machine to some good use. I really had a fun time testing and trying out the different die cut shapes... and found these fun ones in from the accent essentials cartridge... what a perfect match!

Photobucket

and if you haven't seen the chipboard shapes from this collection... oh you're missing out on something for sure... I just love the glossy finish on these.. and oh how I miss those younger days when I can just roll around on the beach. I really wanted to but figured that it might look a tad bit strange... with a 30 something rolling around like a 5 year old...lol oh well (maybe another time... is there an age that you once again act like a 5 year old and get away with it?).

Photobucket

thanks for stopping by everyone and don't forget to stop by the Pink Paislee blog post if you haven't already for a bit more details. :)
